During my practice, I faced this issue when i accompanied my client to the police station for a clear case of 409 ipc. After waiting for long, we had to go to other police station where it became so difficult to even register the complaint

This will lead to police station shopping, who knows whom and no restrictions upon jurisdiction, even for a case in bengal, one can file a case in Kerala, and till actual trial begin, a accused from bengal have to run to kerla for all reliefs. Like CPC, there is requirement of some check.

Waise police wale to complaint mein bhi acknowledgement dene se mana kar dete hai like under IT act saying, they need to send this to their regional office and have recorded in their books but no acknowledgement to complainant
