SOPC and student company

I'm in student company at swcs right now, have been for about a month and the prep course will start in 3 weeks. Mostly the same but some things have changed. Before you go to sfpc you're in AT and ay first it wasn't too bad. 3 formations a day with morning pt and released at 1300. We have out phones and will have them in sfpc too. But with the command changing recently, it has become a complete ball kicker!! I can't wait for the prep course because that will be a break compared to this!! We're running no less than 5 miles in the morning, sometimes twice a day in boots and uniform. Sometimes they destroy us with 100s of flutter kicks and sprints which feels like a break tbh! I had got transfered to the recovery unit for a few weeks because of a minor knee injury but I should be good to go in a few weeks. The Cadre are assholes and we play a lot of fuck fuck games!! But all that being said, I'm whete I want to be!! If you can pass the 40min 5 mile and do well on the pt test you'll be good to go. But it will still be tough!! This all could very well change again. I probably just got lucky enough to be in a beat down class lol Sfpc is now 5 weeks but very similar to sopc The pt test is minimum of 38 handrelease pushups in 2 min, 8 pullups pass/fail, and 2 mile run under 14:25min. You can now get recycled if you fail the star course in sfas. There are several dudes here because of that. Life is good compared to OSUT as long as you're good at pt!!

Hey Jon, when you were in OSUT or even SOPC and/or Selection, did you know anyone who volunteered for sfas while in OSUT?...I ask because I have a med waiver and cannot obtain 18x, I am going 11x and hoping I can volunteer , my pt scores are maxed out and I'm an older guy like yourself...any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know how I didn't see this. Sorry for not replying. No I haven't heard of anyone picking up a contract in OSUT for 18x but it did happen for RASP.

What're some tips for not getting pink-slipped? Is it just kind of common sense, and whoever gets pink slipped is basically a rude, arrogant prick or something? I'm assuming at least 90% of the candidates are like-minded and want to be there, and the person who gets voted out is basically just couple notches below everyone else in terms of being helpful or communicating?

I just signed a 18x contract and shipping out in February. I’ve been dealing with some minor lingering injuries. So I am not in the best shape of my life. Is the 22 week basic and prep courses enough time to get into shape for selection?

It's enough time but you'll be busy and tired. You better push yourself to make sure you get good pt scores in basic. That will set you up for success when heading to SOPC. SOPC will then get you in great shape for selection, you just have to score high enough on a PT test to get there.

Okay. So do they look at those pt scores from the beginning of basic? Or do they look at your pt scores at the end of basic? Bc I know they will not be great coming in but I know my body will be responsive to training

Love your channel brother. Just got out of the Army has 11 bravo and I am planning on going through the guard for SF. I wanted to do the18 x-ray contract through the guard but they say they do not give that contract to prior service in the guard. My question is do you know if they still give SOPC if you just go through without 18 x-ray contract? My other question is do you think that without SOPC it’s very difficult to get Selected?

Hey man I just have a question. I'm thinking about joining with an 18x contract after I graduate from college in may, however I've heard that young guys like myself (21) don't usually get selected at sfas because of age? Is this true?

I can't speak for stats or averages but when I went through a buddy of mine who was barely 21 got selected. So if it's what you really want go for it.

That's not true. The X-ray program was created to bring guys in who knew nothing about the army and had no bad habits from the Army. I completed the Q at 20. I was an x-ray in 2004, graduated in 06 and spent the rest of my time in on a team. Good luck and might I recommend the website professional soldiers.

Brother can you talk more about the RRC (75TH RANGERS), are the considered tier 1? Or are they not tier 1 but they're JSOC? Are they a SMU?
