I always loved you on Chopin, but you really excel on liszt/alkan which requier strong, resonant, and dynamic sound. I didn t hear many professional pianists coming close to this performance, you add so much deepness and intensity in every pieces you play, that's magnificient.

Liszt is such an emotional fellow; he and Norma must've gotten on really well because he has SO much to say to her - and her to him - such rollercoaster eloquence! .... Sophia, Liszt is no easy beat, you must've worked so long and deeply to reach you own wonderous interpretation of the Liszt-Norma dialogues, stories which the dear composer wanted talent such as yours to express today and for eternity! ... It is a good idea to play other than Chopin at a Chopin festival. This is a blindingly fantastic performance of a work with thunder storm and passion, yet I was thinking ... how would Chopin have formed this "reminiscences" if at all he would have made it? Maybe I should think of Chopin's Fantasy in F-minor (op.49 if I remember) as a theatrical piece by Chopin, but Liszt's oevre is full of those. What a powerful ending! Sophia Liu is good! Is she related to Bruce Liu? Winner of Chopin 2021?
