My great-grandmother would moisturize her skin with olive oil religiously, and would keep a bottle in her room. At the time no one used for cooking, so up until I was about eight or nine years old I believed it was some sort of lotion. I used it both in my diet, and as an oil cleanser in my K-Beauty routine.

Here in Italy we all know about the power of olive oil! Girls, use it as a mask for your hair, leave it for 25 minutes once a week and then rinse it with a normal shampoo. And if at the end of the day you will spread a little finger tip of Olive oil around your eyes you will get that Goddess look :)

I read her beauty book in the 1980's, my Mom had it. My Mom is Italian also and uses Olive Oil on her skin as well as either table sugar or coffee grounds as an exfoliant. Both are Italian beauty tips that really work.

We used olive oil as sun tanning lotion in the 70’s. I got a great tan and my skin was so soft after showering. I notice in home recipes for eyelash growth that olive oil is one of the ingredients.

Years ago i watched her in an interview in 1970 say she used johnson and johnson baby products on her skin , she used baby oil and the johnson and johnson baby bar soap to clean her skin. That bar was very good , smelled very soft and was so gentle. Not sure if the still make it. I used to use it. They also had a jar baby cream that was fantastic. The jar was vintage milk glass until the 70s . In the 80s they switched to a plastic jar. Not sure if its still made.

i have the sophia dolce gabbana lipstick. the colour is pink with a bit of purple, sheer. i was surprised when i opened it too because in the campaign pics it doesn't show like that. i think that is the type of shade that she wore the most during her life so she tried to recreate it. also check out the video commercial because is directed by giuseppe tornatore, amazing movie director xx

When I was with child. Mother insisted on my using olive oil like Sophia so I wouldn't get stretch marks on my boobs and belly like she did. Maybe Sophia brand of perfume covered up the olive oil smell. In the summer heat not the best.

Sophia Loren Always says she didn't like at all the heavy make up she was forced to wear during the 60s and 70s, as every good old italian lady would say, and, yes, olive oil is her beauty secret, she put it on her hair and sleep in it before any important occasion. I know also she doesn't care too much about her body shape and eat a Baba ( a typical sweet of Naple, drenched in the rhum) and a cappucino for breakfast.

For some reason I remember that Revlon discontinued a certain lipstick shade adored by Sophia so she bought out the entire remaining inventory. It was a wearable nude and I'm pretty sure that "mocha" was a part of the shade name. Eventually, Revlon brought it back (late 70s?) and I owned it but wow, I just can't remember the full name of the color, nor could I find it online.
