Maybe if a child knew an adult could slap them in these circumstances they'd learn to behave
@abithefallenhuman9213 жыл бұрын
Actually, there are countless studies proving hitting children has no positive effects, and actually does quite a lot of harm to them, especially in the long run.
@chorleystar3 жыл бұрын
@@abithefallenhuman921 PC rubbish. Just the thought I may get hit stopped me... Now kids know they can do what they like and what's the punishment... Lose a phone for a whole day... Wow... I'd laugh at my parents if they had done that and carried on... Maybe if children toughened up a bit they would get further in life. I'm not talking about full on abuse but I'm afraid the reason the world is a mess is because no one takes responsibility for their actions... So you can take your "studies" and shove them shall we say... Somewhere 🙄
@abithefallenhuman9213 жыл бұрын
@@chorleystar I regret to inform you these studies are backed by years and years of research. Children getting hit doesn't make them behave. It doesn't prepare them for the real world. If a child misbehaves, they get a punishment reflective of their mistake. What does a child do that warrents physical harm? Killing the family pet?
@chorleystar3 жыл бұрын
@@abithefallenhuman921 sadly you are wrapping children up in cotton wool. That's why everyone whinges about mental health now. They cannot cope with difficulty because people like you "baby them".
@abithefallenhuman9213 жыл бұрын
@@chorleystar people "whine" about mental health now because its just as important (if not more) as physical health. Depression in children causes a faster maturity. Sounds good, till you realize this means children can't enjoy their childhood the same way their peers can, as they suffer with depression. I have ADHD. There are some days I can't convince my body to get out of bed. Some days it feels like hell to do the dishes. Others I can do so much my body aches like hell the next morning. My mum has Non-epileptic attack disorder, which causes her to pass out, most of the time without warning. This could very well have formed due to a mix of her depression, and medical malpractice she was a victim of as a child. Mental health is important, studies proving that date back to the early 1900's (some even before that), to deny that is to be purposely blind to that fact so you can pretend things were better in your day. No one is wrapping children up in cotton wool, we're just not hitting them, which, if you were reading, has no good effects on them; "Children who experience repeated use of corporal punishment tend to develop more aggressive behaviors, increased aggression in school, and an increased risk of mental health disorders and cognitive problems."
