Happy Tears | August Recap pt. 2 | Giveaway!

Glad to hear your parents are retiring from that business. I know how hard they both had it to give you and your sister a good life, and a background full of your family's culture and traditions, and you've kept it in your heart. Every parent wants to be proud of their children, because it reflects on how THEY've lived their lives, they want to provide all they can when you are young and needful of their care. They want to make sure you had a good education in able to provide for yourselves and your (subsequent) children. Now, it's your time to begin to look after them. They are in the youth of their advancing age, which is not "old" by any means. Now is the time to make sure that they are taking care of themselves, get doctor's checkups to enable them to live pain free, and have their good health to be able to enjoy their retirement. I know this because I am in my late 50's, almost 60. Make sure you niggle at them to sell their house and come live near you and your sister. It'll be closer to fly to Asia for family visits. (from California). I am so glad you have a close-knit family, that is a real TREASURE!!!! (I know this because my mom and dad have passed on a long time ago, so each holiday/birthday I miss them so..) You still have them, so enjoy this time for their sake.

I think as first generation children, the best feeling in the world, is seeing our parents not struggle and work 12 hour days to support themselves and their family. I can definitely feel your happiness as my mother retired this year as well and I couldn't be happier for her as she finally can relax for the first time in her life. I hope your parents are enjoying the retired life and we should never take the sacrifices they've done for us for granted!

Hi Sophiaaa! So good to hear from you. I am a Korean born and grown in Paraguay. I have never imagined my parents retiring but after watching your video I can’t wait to see them retiring. Cuz they have been working for so long so far away from their country. They only close their store (clothing) three days a year. And this has been going on and on for more than 30 years. I am so glad for your parents and you too ❤️

Relatable about the parents. My Dad leaves us mid-holiday to fly back to Brisbane to work sometimes. He has walked out of a wedding to sort out an issue. I am really scared about him never retiring and not getting to live a full life, but I'm only twenty and he's in his late 50's. Hearing about your dad does give me a more optimistic outlook on their future x
