We just had to replace our seal on our back door from our kitty as well, looked worse than that and it was up for at least 5 years😮! I am right there with you on struggling to keep up, it's enough at the end of a long work day to check in/spend time with the kids and hubby and then want to just relax for a few. You, my lady, are an inspiration in getting things done even when you have zero time! You're an amazing person, Sophia and us diehard MGC fans will never shame you for the normal dirt, wear and tear in your house.❤

I am much more motivated to take care of these types of tasks in the Fall than in the Spring. I don't know why. We live in a 'fixer-upper' home and sometimes I am overwhelmed by all that needs to be painted, repaired, spruced, replaced. Your method of doing one small task at a time is so helpful to me. Slowly but surely I am taking care of my to-dos. Thank you, Sophia! 💕

At 15:09, when you talked about how your guests will notice the condition of your back door,it made me think of a “hint from Heloise” from decades ago. She said that your dinner guests are not going to know that the guest room is a hoarded mess if you close the door, but if they help with the dinner cleanup, they will notice the gloppy soap pump, scummy sink drain cups, gross plastic sink drainer and board and smelly sponge and cloth! So concentrate on that!😅🤣😂

Oh Sophia, I can literally watch you doing anything and be entertained! I laughed through this whole video. I only have one door in my home, a slider, so it is easy to see when it is dirty, but I cannot remember the last time I cleaned my many windows, which is why I have sheer curtains to cover them!☺Well done on the door project! You are such an inspiration!

Check into the “ Ruggable” mats ( or another similar brand, cuz they’re pricey) for the back door. That’s what I use and it helps keep down the tracked in dirt and doesn’t get caught under the door. Yep, I find a spider in my home a few times a week. If they’re small I leave them alone, if they’re big enough to eat my face, they get captured and put outside 😅

I live in the country in North Carolina. I'm surrounded by woods and fields. I have giant wolf spiders that have hundreds of babies on their back that will follow you in the door when coming in from outside. Not only do I have spiders, I have snakes. I was taking my little Yorkie outside on a leash last night and a small copperhead was waiting at the bottom of my steps. I had a war with that snake and it was all done with one foot on the front half of the snake and a 6 inch flashlight in one hand while still holding onto the leash with the other. I have an idea that it was the offspring of the giant snake as big around as my forearm that I saw slither under the gas tank in my backyard. I'm so looking forward to cold weather so I won't be afraid to go outside.

I live in Arizona, land of dust storms, so I clean my doors regularly and it never fails the day after I clean the doors, we have another dust storm. I'm retired so I have time to clean, but my brain likes category cleaning; I do glass day, door day, toilet day, hard floor day, carpet day, you get the idea. I want to get through it as fast as possible so one cleaning product and one (or two) microfiber cloth(s) and I just clean everything that is made from the same material. I'm also old as dirt, so I set a timer for 15 minutes and I go as fast as I can until the timer goes off and then I take a break. It may take 3 or 4 sessions, but I get it done. The yard isn't broken up I mow, edge, and clean the patio and front walkway, and usually the garage floor in one session because I only want to drag out all the equipment once a week.

@@rachelvidal1053 Are you like me with only a few items (3 usually a lamp and 2 decorations) on any flat surface? When I dust furniture and/or counters, I'm only willing to move three items because any more than that is a pain especially in our dusty climate.

I don't really do maintenance well, not when it comes to things like this. This is more of a seasonal chore for me - unless its really grody. I don't know, I don't think it's that bad! :) We were able to find a rug for our entryway FINALLY, but it is very thin, has a rubber edge that keeps them from curling up so the door doesn't get hindered, but it took a lot of trial & error to find the right one. A lot of returns and frustrations. lol
