Joe Duttine (Tim) was the best thing to come out of Phil Collinson's reign. (Sorry... but the Stella/Karl/Gloria characters never worked for me.) Too bad they couldn't keep Philip Lowrie (Dennis). I thought he fit in well, although they ruined his character toward the end.
