Wow. I really couldn’t think where Sophie was going to go with her story, never did I imagine someone would take her wheelchair away from her, just didn’t even enter my head. How horrific, I can’t imagine how awful that must have been. Really eye opening.

My daughter is autistic with severe learning disabilities. She does not have the ability to articulate or communiticate abuse if it was happening or seek places of refuge. They are getting people from abroad mainly west African to do these caring jobs and they don't care about who they are looking after and it shows. I'm a mixed black woman so this not about race but culture. No empathy at all in their tone or demeanor when dealing with vulnerable people . I got rid of my daughters carers from an agency last year. My daughter requires 2:1 support in public at all times and I found out one of the carers was going off doing other things on the job leaving only 1 carer with her which is not safe if worst case scenario was to happen. One day I will die and she will ultimately have to be in the care of others. It terrifies me everyday

When I went for help I was told they did not have enough funds to help me and the lady I went to she was worried about her safety and I said to her well if you feel like that how do you think I feel

I have cerebral palsy and have been domestically abused there isn’t much support at all it’s ridiculous

Yes especially elderly men in nursing homes.
