She's spot on. At first I thought LCC and Pro Radii were good tracks to have on a run, but the whole album never really hooked me. After having 1 hour + commutes daily, I tried listening to the whole thing front to back, and the experience really shifted. I'd go in on a track like sublimit, find one element to focus on, and be amazed at how that one element had completely morphed and was unrecognizable by the end, yet the whole track was the same structure as it had been in the beginning. Def need to get more sophie fans on the autechre train, they're really missing out. You can see a real throughline of how their work inspired her, and even the feedback of how she inspired them in albums like elseq and sign!

When I first heard it I thought it sounded like old mid 90's autechre but your right I just thought of it as a poppier version of Autechre then it clicked.

I do agree with you. I wouldn’t describe autechre as discordant the same way I would stockhausen or Varese or other experimental electronic. Autechre is still very much dance music. Confield gets close though
