I am one of the few people that are very accepting of dinosaur changes. I love this new Stegosaurus! I always though the old Stegosaurus looked kinda off, dumb like 'how does that thing run, rest or fight without tripping over' kinda dumb. But it looks so much more like an animal now.

I love how dinosaurs capture our imaginations so profoundly, humanity started to have something of an existential crisis when it found out just how prolific they really were. Discovering that the Earth was once ruled by entirely different creatures created an almost ‘ego death’ that scientists resisted by restoring Dinosaurs uncharitably. Really cool tidbit I never considered despite being an enthusiast for decades; what a wonderful little channel 🦖 🦕 ❤️

Synapisode is a funny combination of synapsid and episode, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Still, I was not expecting something like this and I am pleasantly surprised to have a sort of side-series to Your Dinosaurs Are Wrong; I can't wait for future episodes!
@StevenBellettini

I was going for ~ syn-episode, as in connecting-episode, since these will be sort of offshoots or bridges across main episodes. I didn't even consider that it could be a play on 'synapsid.' Also, thanks! Edit: 'Sympisode' might also work but that feels even clunkier.

I always wondered how effective the thagomizer was before, because the tail was so high up. This makes much more sense
@ivanclark2275
@ivanclark2275 6 жыл бұрын
This makes a lot more sense as an animal I think. The long back legs make it seem like it would be both less efficient at walking and not help it defend itself. The tail being ten feet off the ground as previously doesn’t make a lot of sense, because while it does put it at head hight of something like an allosaurus, it would be less versatile. An allosaurus or ceratosaurus would have to be pretty stupid to run right into its tail whether it’s pointed at the head or the body, so all the high off the ground tail would do is limit the tail’s range of motion.

I love these episodes! And this new Stegosaurus video really surprised me, especially the tail tip's new posture. Sophie is indeed a marvelous and impressive Stegosaurus specimen, even that she's not fully grown. For the next dinosaurs, I would love to see the Ceratosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Edmontosaurus, Velociraptor, Giganotosaurus and, in time, the Tyrannosaurus rex (since new research and specimens are revealing more facts and theories of this dinosaur). :)

@ARCtheCartoonMaster

I must say, this was a pretty interesting episode. It just goes to show how very little we know about the history of life on Earth, and how there's always something new to learn. Personally, I always thought _Stegosaurus_ looked rather odd, with its rump constantly in the air like it's ready to mate, so this new discovery was quite refreshing, and the animal definitely looks better with this relatively typical thyreophoran posture. Just imagine, if any hypothetical, hyperintelligent species will evolve millions of years from now, and they discover fossilised human bones, they might think people with genetic disorders, for example, are separate species, due to having such little evidence to work with! And also, I'm the one who bought you the _Afrovenator_ , in case you guys are wondering. :)

Great video, it's fascinating learning all these knew things about dinosaurs. Niiiiice. The best thing about internet as a knowledge platform is the fact that information gets updated in a steadier and more assemble manner than books and papers. in a old video you can write a note in the description, comment and title that knew information is available on the subject. something that isn't possible with paperbacks.

I see this being an extremely successful series. Don't get me wrong, I liked your normal YDAW videos but they were sometimes too long and animations are more appealing than a toy figurine. This adresses all issues that keep the "normal" people that aren't as interested in dinosaurs and who don't have 20 minutes to spend on the subject away from your vids.

The attitude towards dinosaurs throughout the early 20th century as you describe it always baffles me. I get why the general public might think certain animals would be lame and boring, but how could scientists ever be like "Oh that stupid animal? Yeah that's clearly an evolutionary dead end. Look at all those pointless frills and spikes it has. No reason to study that any further."

I must say I still do have a love for outdated dinosaur designs I I mean I like the current ones way more but the outdated ones maybe it's like if they continue to evolve like the African Cryptid which I won't even dare to pronounce its name but anyways that's besides the point perhaps it's possible that in some Faraway rainforest some form of sauropod similar living to a manatee or in South America some small pterosaur still roams I mean it's highly unlikely and I personally don't think so but it's neat just an interesting thought SAS
