Yes, they do settle down. The larger ones can stay quite loud.

I heard in the video that Sophos runs on Linux, but looking at the website I'm only seeing support for Windows, and MAC OS X. Is there and ISO that would allow my to boot directly to Sophos via a Linux installed PC?

Brian, Sophos AV and Intercept X products run on Windows, MAC and Server Linux platforms. The UTM is distributed either in a Hardware Appliance with the OS installed or via an ISO. If you want the SG ISOs you can get them here: www.sophos.com/en-us/support/utm-downloads.aspx or if you want the XG ISOs you use the link Jeff gave you above. The software is the SAME.

Although, Restoring from back up stuffs up the NIC order due to MAC addresses being changed if you're going from one to another UTM. So it seems pretty useless . Unless anyone knows how to change that ?

hi, i have sophos SG550 , the default ip is attached on eth0 which means it is on port MGMT1 , i tried to connect it to my laptop to access the default webadmin. i can do ping to 192.168.0.1 but cant access 192.168.0.1:4444

I have a sg330 too . I can‘t install the license file on the Original Sophos Software. Its Tell me: Cannot use ASG Software license in SG330 device. So i try to install the Software. Application fw on it. this faules also with the error : Installation failed, please press the Reboot Button. How can i run the Firewall for my Home?

That is a hard one. We only sell licensed versions. When Astaro had the product it was an ASG (Astaro Security Gateway) Now Sophos named them SG. The key is the hardware and firmware. The free version uses the ASG Software Framework. It's been a while since I did that. We are doing mostly XGs now. Have you tried to install the HOME XG Software on it? That may get you past this issue.

Kotori Technologies, LLC thank you for the quick answer. Now i tried the Home XG Sw-17.1.4_MR-4-254.iso. After beginnig the Installation i become the error: Failed getting iso Disk. Press y to reboot.

Kotori Technologies, LLC oh sorry, i write the images with „Linux live usb creator“ to an usb Stick. After that i plug the Stick into the Firewall an Boot from it. is there a mistake?

@@leinadoe1204 No that sounds right. It just looks based on the error message that the machine could not mount the ISO. Or there issue and issue on the motherboard.
