As a soprano 1, Yes, I enjoy easily being able to learn my parts, but also LOVE when we have harmonies. I am not great at sight singing, but I am improving, and often make harmony tracks of my own voice using garage band.

2:05 I've been in a choir where an Alto complaining that like half of the sopranos can't sight-read due to tendency to get the melody and used to memorize the part only by ear, also often get confused when the score requires soprano to sing anything other than melody; while the other parts sing at first sight fairly well. 😀😅

I am a soprano 2 because I have a bigger voice, although I can reach very high notes and love to carry the melody 🥺

I'm currently a soprano 2 in one of my choirs. I was an alto 2 last year, but since I can go high and several soprano 2 left, I filled the space lol. I was honestly happy to change part, because I like going high and I was frustrated that I couldn't use that part of my voice in alto. Also it's way easier to learn my part. 😁 I'm still an alto 2 in my other choir, so I still get to sing low. Win win !

I just joibed a choir on a whim, and was told that im a soprano 2, thank you for explaining what it means and whats to come! Im so glad that i was chosen even with my limited experience, and low knowledge of theory and such. I do find that in the very highest botes i begin to struggle unless ive warmed up my voice really well.

I currently sing Soprano 1, because I'm the only singer in our small choir who can get to and above a G5 comfortably. My voice is very happy all through the 5 octave, so it's been pretty rare for me to sing any other part, though I have the range to sing as low as tenor.

I'm a mezzo-soprano singing soprano 2 in a choir (I can sing alto as well). It's true that the soprano 1 is often singing the melody, which is easier than all the other voices. My G5 doesn't sound very good, the F5 on the other hand is okay. So I'm probably in the right place. After the summer holidays, I'll be joining a baroque ensemble. They want a soprano 1! I don't know if that'll work out. I am sceptical, but training very hard the Stabat Mater by Pergolesi. It'll probably be a disaster. I feel like Florence Foster Jenkins. But at least it's only for fun, and I can always say, I am just too old. Truth is, I was always a mezzo. And I would have loved to be an alto.

I sang the Pergolisi Stabat Mater at school. I always sang alto then. I sang soprano in my church choir mainly because the existing sopranos had very sweet small voices, I loved stretching my voice though I'm most comfortable between middle C and E flat above mid C. And sound better there too😅! I can belt out the high notes but not reach them softly. I sing loùijw notes softly and cannot belt them. I've always been able to follow music.

I'm currently a sop 2 and I hate it. The problem is I'm louder, more comfortable, and sound better in the super high stuff but i hardly sing that stuff anymore bc i got placed on soprano 2. The teacher never even did a range test, one of the other sopranos just decided all our splits for us when i wasnt even there.

Alto - because I am too lazy for a workout after work , i.e. singing higher than e² (probably the e4 for english speakers...?), but am still ok to use my head a bit more. Now, that might say more about my job, than about my character.
