This meditative vlog documents the process from start to finish of taking some accessories I wasn't wearing and transforming them into a garment. Grab your knitting and maybe a warm beverage and join me for this mindful practice of using what we have to make something fresh and new!

That was a fun idea to assembly all the footage from the whole process!

It was so fun to do! Very time consuming of course (both to film and to edit), but it's cool to have a little video diary of this project. :)

this was fun to watch whilst I knit on an improvised top down raglan sweater that used to be a whitehorse sweater myself... I miss your podcast episodes but quite enjoy your recent shorter videos. I guess I just enjoy your videos period.

What a coincidence! Thanks for your kind words, Katarina. As most of my knits are designs these days, podcasting just seems a bit weird. I do make videos for my Patreon every month that are usually more of a podcast format rambling about my designs but...I don't know lately I just want to work on these calming theme videos that take like 40 hours to edit 🙃 - glad to hear you're enjoying them also. ☺️

Beautiful knit, and I really enjoyed this process video. So nice to see that you are using the stitchmarkers /progress keepers I send you a long time ago, hope they give you some joy 😊 greetings from the Netherlands

This was an absolutely stunning video, Becky. I loved seeing your process right from the beginning, through the bumps along the way, and finally at the finished product. I'll definitely be having a hunt through my collection to see how I could re-purpose old projects that I don't wear. This kind of process would be an excellent challenge for me as someone who struggles with not knowing exactly how a project will turn out (which is why I've only ever tried designing once, and it was a crochet beret in thick wool 😉). Much love xx

Hi Orli! Ah, how cool that it seems to have inspired you! You could always do a shawl which is pretty simple to design and also easier to just finish when you start running out of yarn. I know that a sweater was sort of a high stakes choice but...I'm wild like that. 😜

Watching this while ripping out a too-big sleeve on a sweater to re-knit it. You make redoing one’s knitting such a peaceful and thoughtful process rather than a frustrating one. Lovely video!

I used to find it more frustrating but...I've learned it's not as frustrating as having a finished piece I'm not satisfied with or excited to wear. Sometimes I definitely need some emotional distance from something before being able to rip it out though. This was just such beautiful yarn I needed it to be something I would get lots of use out of! Good luck with your sleeve! Glad I could keep you company for part of it. :)

Really cute! I love undoing old projects and reknitting them, I've done it multiple times. Have undone many of my accessories from early in my knitting journey. There's one project that actually started as a thrift store sweater, I dyed it with avocado pits and I knit it into a little tank 3 times before I was happy with the final product! I'm considering undoing the first cardigan I made because I don't like the way the neckline sits. Maybe I just need to redo the button band... I think undoing old projects can seem like a waste of time but I'm always so much happier after I do it. Anyway, great video!
