Phil listed six things. Both fell under two topics. One being New Jersey being not a real family (they’re a crew according to carmine/they make anyone/Tony is a bad leader), the second the wrongs they’ve done( coco, billy, fat don) So that’s a couple of three things.

Amazing. Phil’s in the can for 20 years and still acts like he’s on his menstrual cycle every chance he gets on his shine box… a.) the Tony + Junior thing…Junior never had the makings of a varsity athlete and he killed Chris’s dad… b.) That cracxhead disrespected Meadow + Billy decided to follow in shinbox heads footsteps so naturally Tony B. had to retaliate + fat dom deliberately went over to break balls and took it too far when they cautioned him he was taking it too far… c.) They show a scene in the series where Chrissy gets his hand pricxed and they burn that card in his hand when he’s getting made. Idk what mr.I-jacx-off-ina-tissue for 20 yrs w/o a peep is crying about??? d.) man that grilled cheese-off the radiator head is getting too big for that shine box. Hope nobody runs his head over…*his Grandkids heard the 20 years he did in the can and heard the disrespect he was giving Tommy in Goodfellas, so they anonymously decided to finish the job and run over his big ol’ jerk off of a head. No more shines, jerk off. No more

Butch was baying for Jersey's blood initially because he thought Tony was a problem. This is the scene where he begins to understand Phil is the problem. Butch's interest was in having this shit done with so Jersey could no longer compromise their business integrity; during this conversation it became apparent Phil had a personal vendetta against Tony Soprano that was forcing Jersey to respond, not vice versa. The fact that Phil went to ground and let his guys take the hits while Tony weathered the storm with his crew only further cemented that Phil was the erratic element, not Tony, making the decision to offer him up on a platter an easy one.

@@gluck5869 eh I disagree; look at Butch after Phil says “5 fucking families and we got this Pygmy thing in jersey” (he was nodding in agreement). It’s all about pride for Phil. It’s not that he’s upset or misses his brother, it’s the fact that he feels he’s had to eat shit by not being able to torture Tony B. That Vito married his cousin another humiliation, that Fat Dom disappeared and Coco had his teeth stomped out….it’s all about feeling humiliated. It parallels with Johnny Sack putting pride over money when he wants Ralph killed for insulting Ginny. And Carmine putting pride first over the Esplanade before finally settling. Also in Series 5, Phil felt he had to eat shit over the money for the racing track…and getting his neck injured in a car crash trying to get away from Tony. It’s why he gave them such a hard time over getting his car fixed in the body shop.

I like how Phil looks down on Tony because he never did a long prison sentence. That's kind of the goal as a successful criminal and mobster is to avoid jail time. Phil and Ritchie and even Tony B at times all really came out of the can with a big chip on their shoulder thinking they were owed something. Phil was jealous that Tony was 20 years younger than him and already a boss even if it was New Jersey. He saw him as not having paid his dues and he resented that he was getting to live out the years of his life that Phil was away for.
