Hey Scott. Did you drill the holes for the rib rivets before covering the wings? Or after the fabric and tapes are laid on?

Definitely before, you need to debur the holes and I think the fabric might twist up in the drill, also all thee swarf would be in the wing.

Similar in principal however they used fabric and chemicals to shrink it

Is there a specific advantage to securing the wing fabric to the ribs with rivets instead of stitching?

Probably just time and effort. Or maybe stitching is only on wood aircraft.
