“Don't forget. Believe in yourself. Not in the you who believes in me. Not the me who believes in you. Strength to face up to the fact I may lose use of my left arm, and be in pain for the rest of my life. Strength to move forward when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. To keep moving forward after she was gone. “My drill is the drill, that creates the heavens!” This will always be my favorite anime because of those things. It took me a long time to realize this. kamina was able to join the final battle with Team Dai Guren When super tengen Toppa Guren Lagann was formed. It took the form of the most powerful thing team dai Guren ever knew. And it was kamina. He was their world. Their glue. Their inspiration. And he was their final weapon in the final battle. At first I thought it was Simon bc of the glasses but it's kamina.
@dlib893 жыл бұрын
Kamina was the one who took them out of fhat weird alternate dimension/dream. It seems like he never really died. Like Simon said as a kid, hs would always lives on his heart. Maybe those alternative worlds where he appeared were those parts in each one's heart. Leading to him more or less returning as the final form of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, since everyone combined.
@drenchedinsyrupp60593 жыл бұрын
It's the both of them. Kamina's cape represents the sacrifice of the past -- but Simon's glasses represent the charge towards a brighter future. The two share the same pose, because they are the same parts of the drill that creates the heavens. That's Tengen Toppa -- and that's Gurren Lagann.

I think, that the reason why people keep coming back here, no matter how much time has passed, is because gurran lagan speaks to us on a transcended level. despite all the harshness, despite all the bitterness and evil in the world, we still hold on. Drilling our own path with nothing but our hopes, dreams, and determination. hoping and fighting to overcome the odds no matter what, all for a better tomorrow. no matter all the nihilism and despair, I truly believe that ultimately, we all have that little spark of will that can shine on to pierce through even the harshest challenges life throws at us. @@lampad4549 It's flawed, sure, but what matters is that it was both enjoyable and inspiring in it's own way. I love how the solo at 2:50 really encapsulates the story. It blazes out of the gate after the second chorus using the same rhythm and guitar motifs we’ve heard throughout the song, building tension with the repeated drum and rhythm guitar line until it rockets into action at 3:07. This part tells the story of Kamina, him bursting out of the underground and taking on the world, gathering momentum and rocketing forward, as symbolized by the soaring keys and lighter drums, the energy is contagious! It repeats the main motif of the song twice, each time adding more musical texture as team Dai Gurren grows until at the peak of its momentum it is suddenly cutoff. At 3:29 the melody falls to pieces, the rhythm falters, and we know what this means: the core of the song, the core of Team Dai Gurren, has fallen. Kamina is dead and the solo no longer has a direction. The rhythm drifts about aimlessly for a few seconds until it starts picking up again with that same anticipation we heard in the beginning but with new instrumentation. A single guitar rips out of the murk and with an intensity and desperation we haven’t heard yet. It takes up the broken pieces of the first part of the solo and takes them to even greater heights, finishing the solo with this powerful climax and leading into the bridge. This guitar is Simon, and whenever I hear this solo I remember the incredible story of Gurren Lagann.
@originalporpoise1009 Жыл бұрын
Also the way the guitar section solos over a quieter rhythm and melody of the first solo section is totally symbolic of how the memory of Kamina propped up Simon and gave him strength. This whole solo is just full of little symbolic things like that and I can’t get enough

When I watched Gurren Lagann first time I legit had to take a 3 day break from it after episode 8. I cried and was like really messed up about it. It was great.

just finish watching gurren lagann the other day and after trying to watch other anime series to try and move on i just cant *seeing the main cast grow old and the new generation taking over leaves my heart with a hole in it carve by a drill, i want more, i need more... i miss them* *thank god there are two movies to watch!... hopefully that will quench my thirst since seeing them in action really leaves a big impact in me specially kamina's words and how much trust he puts into simon thats why he was always soo full of confident* *also nia best girl*

You know whats so funny? Im not really a huge anime guy myself. But I enjoyed watching a couple animes in my life. And my mind just randomly thought: "Hm, maybe I should watch Gurren Lagann and see what it's all about?" It was an extremely random Idea, but I wanted to watch an anime for a long time after I finished kill la kill. So I randomly went and watched the 1st episode of it. Then watched the 2nd, the 3rd. Until finally I became hooked and finished it. Literally, watching Gurren Lagann was just a random thought in my mind, not knowing that this well known anime was absolutely that legendary itself. But eh, who knows. Cause sometimes you just gotta Kick logic out of the situation, and go for it! Cause thats the way Team Dai-Gurren rolls!

I admit this anime is underated today, But still when I found this anime and watched it till the end. I feel like I've found a treasure... For myself. And I still feel that feeling until now "From someone who is breaking through his limits and on his way to heaven"

1:47 this part, this fucking part right here. Where Everyone does “That”, the on thing they’ve been doing since they met. The moment where Super Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagan takes the form of Kamina, crosses its arms and towers above the Anti Spiral. And the Anti Spiral only has one thing to say. “What?!”
