Hi english thoughts on this song: so i think that this song is actually representing a boy who has a long lost friend or someone he truly cares about OR it could be happiness, and loosing this important person, he tries to meet her again in his dreams. Summary from beginning to end following MV: the picture frame i think means a dream the state he is in, the butterfly being either happiness, or the loved one. in the first scene, there is the boy standing in the middle of the cross guards, being restrained, of what he can do. shown by the red lights around. The heart beats flashing in and out signifying his heart beat, still alive, or the loved one/happiness slowly dying out from his life. the bells signifying the usual department, like the trains departing, they inform the passengers with a bell. The scene where he has red string tied around his wrists, mean that he is being restrained once more, since the usual is around the pinky lightly, this part is around his wrists, most likely like the prisoners. my guess is that he is a prisoner of depression, or sadness that he is experiencing missing this happiness/ Loved one. "deep sleeping you" most likely means the coma/dead loved one or the fact that his happiness died out, because of tragic events/depression. The "after singing this much" refers to how much he tries to forget, usually people sing to keep themselves cheered up. In this scene you can also catch the fact that he is holding on to the girl, trying to bring her back, like someone fighting depression trying to grab their happiness back. The chains representing yet again, restraint from the things he can say or do. Up to this point, the girl has not opened her eyes, I predict the meaning of this loved one/happiness is closing a door on him, making him harder to pull her back. Before the chorus, the girl stands with her back towards up looking back, smiling, a memory from when he had her and when he had happiness in grip. shortly after it inverts colours, from warm to cold, saying that this cold dead body, or long lost happiness. The boy is holding his head as the screen shatters, I think that this means his sanity is slowly shattering, that he cant contain this all at once, the suffering, the fact that his happiness is taken away, dead, and cold. Chorus, is the boy curled up hugging his knees as the lyrics are "good night no matter how far we are separated if you are crying ill come meet you in your dreams " This starts to imply that he is starting to dream about happiness or to be with her, and he doesnt want to loose whats precious to him, the girl or his happiness. "I knocked on slumber's door, answer me euphoria" knocking on slumber's door is taking the sleeping pills to meet this dream of his, and as you may know euphoria is extreme burst of happiness/joy, which he is desperately looking for, from itself or the girl. the ext part says how he keeps repeating this process, which is knocking on euphoria's door (taking sleeping pills) "i can part with my consciousness" escaping from reality, which he doesnt like. "i dont need anything" the boy who is suffering telling himself how he doesnt need anything else but this girl or the happiness that he is dreaming about. "only i will fall into deep slumber as well today" this indicates how he is either going to suicide to forever dream with this girl or find his happiness in his dreams and not in reality where he is being restrained. in the instrumental break, the girl silhouette has a heart and the boy does not, i think that this means that the girl/happiness, is holding his heart, where the boy's heart and soul lies, one thing he can not live without. The boy and the girl are sitting in a field of flowers, this takes place in his dreams, where everything is happy. notice how he smiles for the first time. Usual place meaning the dream. At the bus stop, might be where the girl is found, the setting sun might mean that how her life is ending. The breathtaking view is either describing the girl or the happiness he finds in his dreams. The gear ticking screen is cracking, this again might signify the boy's sanity, and how the gear ticks clockwise, how time is passing. The bed sheet they ride, meaning how he is sleeping, and his bed takes him to where his dreams are, which is the girl. The boy crying "why why did i wake up from this dream" clears up the fact that he is slumbering with sleeping pills to see the true happiness. In the next scene, the girl is black flurries, and is crumbling away. either the girl slipping away forever (dying) or that his depression is getting worse and/or his hopes and dreams for the world are fading with his happiness. They boy is found surrounded by may doors, the many paths shut on him, and the many choices he chose that were wrong, he looks uneasy and nervous as the doors (doubts) circle him. "i dont want to know of this sorrowful world" i figure that his depression is getting severe and everyone has betrayed him in this world, and he has no where to go but in a dark room curled up. notice how he also has his back against open windows, refusing to meet anyone or accept anything. The next part describes the girl, smiling laying on a bed or roses, this action usually means death. The tears vanishing, meaning how he is lifelessly taken away, dead. because if youre dead, you cant cry. in the ext instrumental parts, the clock spins around crazy, this happens before you die, you have no sense of time and everything faster or slower. the heart shown after is his heart as is gradually gets slower. static, meaning he flickers out of this world. Water is seen as he is falling down, "a love i will never awake from" he is now dead, and forever asleep with the girl, with his happiness. Now that he has faded from the world, he wants to look for this euphoria together with the one he lost. "even after bidding bye bye we can see you again" which most likely means even after we die, we can still be reunited with the ones we truly love. where the story takes place. the current situation, where the boy is reunited with what he is looking for. As soon as he gets the chance, he takes it, and he hugs the girl, his true happiness. The girl cries. meaning how sad she was when he had found out he had gone out of his way to be with her. and how he suddenly awakened from the sadness around him and had been hit with euphoria after seeing the girl. As you can see the clock is now not spinning crazy, but calmly crawling forward. Instead of the girl on the bed of roses, the boy is now also sleeping on the bed of roses. which means he has probably suicided. The boy is seen with the frame, the frame as we know, was all part of his memories, and how he holds them, meaning that he holds them dear, as it is framed with gold. and gold is precious. At this point, there is no more frame, the fact that the frame is gone, means that this is now reality. It may be reincarnation, or that they are in a place where they are both dead as their spirits live among the stars, gazing up towards them. He is holding this girl or his happiness very closely saying how he wanted to protect this kind of future. so if the girl hadnt died, then he wouldnt have to loose it, this is the part where he finds his happy future again. they look at eachother lovingly, as they have finally found what makes them happy. the next part saying how they will never wake up again into the real world where sadness is awaiting him. The frames of roses, probably mean how their memories live when they are alive, and the one frame in the middle is empty and on the ground. this either means the rose is bliss, and the emptiness is lifeless/soulless. and which the boy's silhouette is holding. meaning that his memories in the past life, the souless, sad memories are all wiped, and he takes the happy ones with the girl with him to a place where stars are plentiful, where he can be happy with her. But the last sentence maybe means to "fall asleep in death", so I don't think that's a happy ending, nor a sad one 😞 More peaceful and dark I would say ... I like ATR's song so much because there is a lot of meaning in them and they're so poetic 😭😍

So this is kind of just my thoughts, and if anyone would like to say anything, please go ahead! So, when I heard this song, and really started to try to figure out what it was about, I figured it was about a boy who lost the girl he loves, and that he wished to be with her. He would often dream about being with her, and when he woke up he would be tortured by his yearning to be with her. In the end, he killed himself, I believe by drowning, and joined the girl in the afterlife. I think that whole, 'Answer me euphoria' lyric was about the boy trying to connect with the girl in his dreams, and 'euphoria' was supposed to represent his elation in being with her. This is just my thoughts, anybody else?
