1953, they were thrown out of the country, by a revolutionary coup. He was such a bad shah he lost the throne. He was in so much political trouble between the Majlis (parliament), the UK, US and Soviet governments.

Unfotunately, age of consent in Iran is not 18 like most parts of the world and getting married at age of 16 at that time was not such a big deal .It happens even now ,and even at younger age .There are child marriages happening and it's really disturbing.

👑👑In those days, everyone in Iran--I mean girls--married early, very early. He needed a male heir. Her father was in exile, politically active against the Shah's father and she met the Shah overseas. The Shah's mother and the Shah's twin sister hated all his wives. They picked on her all the time. She was way better educated than EVERYONE in his entire family. She had already started University. And she didn't have a crown. No Queen was crowned until he had a son. And if she was born in 1932, in 1951 when they married, she was 18/19 years old.
