With Abortion it seems a lot of people want the federal government to tell them what to do. Academia is like religion, from the pastor to the professor. Point is the big metropolitan places is the only reason states turn blue. "They" have to speak to that elite, that educates them or rather indoctrinates them to anything but "freedom". "My body, my choice" didn't apply during the pandemic. Why should Portland tell East Oregon what to do ? Elites don't care about their elitism only that they can't control more like Wyoming.

California grows most of the food and I don’t think it matters much we trade with other countries a lot. Most of the food we eat is Imported even though we produce more food than any country. where do these left right bs narratives come from anyways The United States imports a significant portion of its fresh produce, with the percentage increasing over time: Fresh fruit: The US imports about 60% of its fresh fruit. Fresh vegetables: The US imports about 40% of its fresh vegetables. Overall: The US imports a growing share of its fresh produce, with the percentage increasing from 50% to 60% for fresh fruit and 20% to 38% for fresh vegetables between 2007 and 2021. The US imports produce from many countries, but Mexico is the leading supplier. In 2022, Mexico and Canada supplied 51% and 2% of US fresh fruit imports, respectively. The US imports produce to ensure that it's available year-round. The US also grows some produce domestically, with products like apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and head lettuce accounting for less than 10% of the total supply in 2022.

Because most states have signature matching, the problem is less requiring ID to vote, and more determining someone is a citizen when they register. So many states have automatic voter registration, when you get a driver's license, which doesn't require proof of citizenship, that too many noncitizens have been registered to vote. And when states tried to take these noncitizens off the voter rolls, the federal courts stepped in to stop them.

@geigertec592116 сағат бұрын
He won the popular vote but Democrats don't have any other recourse but to double down on the last idea that entered their heads. But it's okay, when Democrats change the rules it's often to their own detriment. Remember when they alienated their Bernie Sanders supporters in 2016 by giving Hillary Clinton "super delegates" so the Democrat primary would be rigged in her favor. They lost. Remember when they didn't even bother having a primary at all this year, but instead kicked their own president out of the running and feilded an unpopular VP? They're their own worst enemies. If the dems succeed in getting rid of the electoral college more than likely it will backfire somehow. Voter ID laws will be passed and all of a sudden Dems won't ever win the popular vote again, or something like that. Then if they win more states they will be suddenly upset the electoral college is gone.

Many voters in those classically blue cities do not understand milk comes from a cow, much less how things get to their stores. While that farmer in rural Iowa understands that city needs the milk their cows produce, and that has to get there through a complex supply chain. So they need a way to counter balance the idiot masses in these cities so they don't starve themselves by voting the farmer into destitution.

The Constitution was a contract between the states. Small states would not have joined the union if they thought they would be dominated by the most populous states (then VA and NY, but now it would be CA, TX, and FL. Ironically for Governor Hochul, NY's importance is declining and it may soon come to appreciate the Electoral College). Those making this proposal are poorly educated on history. This has nothing to do with "democracy" (which Madison correctly observed was overrated) and everything to do with the bargain that brought the states together in the first place. The Founders constructed a brilliant constitution. Today's politicians cannot hold a candle to the Founders and should not be trusted to tinker with a document that has resulted in the most prosperous nation in human history.
