Fun fact the fancy midevil puffy arm things are mostly a landskenecht thing where they'd buy tons of expensive colored cloth and cut it up as a flex. Those slits are just shitty cuts that will fray and tear really easy and look like shit soon, to show that they can just replace that shit when it wears out. Cloth was expensive, so buying a bunch of it and essentially wasting it purely for decoration was like chav shit for middle ages mercenaries.
