Not all of them. Haha It truly depends what university you go to, what region, and zoning and housing rules for that area. Some schools like the University of Alabama, Ole Miss, UCLA, University of Florida, and the University of Georgia have literal mansions that can house maybe 40-70 sorority or fraternity members. And then you have some universities that might have multiple small houses that may house like 5 to 16 members each. All depends.

Every Day in the Bay In Ireland we just have collages in every county and you decide which one you go to when you’re in your last year of school. You need a certain amount of points to get in the collage and we don’t find this out until a month before we leave for collage. When we get to collage we’re lucky if we get the opportunity to live on campus, but if we do it’s just a small dorm or something. And if we don’t we just try to get an apartment close by. It’s so different here.

a lot of sororities (for women) are social and do philanthropic work. typical frats are all male however there are coed frats. coed frats often times are career based rather than philanthropic; essentially helping college students earn internships and job offers. disclaimer tho, all universities are different so this is just a generalization. :)

At least in my personal experience, sororities are based on philanthropy and networking. We have a set amount of volunteer hours to complete and money we have to donate to charities. It's also just a great tool for making and keeping good connections throughout and beyond college. What we like to say at my chapter is "Delta Zeta for life", since you typically end up keeping in contact with your sorority sisters years and years after graduating.

If im latina and i want to get in a sorority, would i have any Type of "problems"? Or can i even get in one?
@ceilpomphrey76566 жыл бұрын
It honestly depends on what school you go to and how big Greek life is on your campus. At my school, University of Memphis, we have a pretty small Greek system compared to the huge SEC schools, and we're pretty much one big family. My school and sorority have strict policies on discrimination, and I can honestly say that smaller schools won't judge you for your ethnicity. In fact, a lot of the girls coming through recruitment are looking for diverse chapters because they want to get to know people from different backgrounds. I was the recruitment vice president for my chapter this past year, and you shouldn't have any problems unless you have a low GPA or actively post about illegal activities on social media, and you definitely should be able to find your home! If they actively discriminate against you because of your ethnicity, I would talk to the head of Greek life at your school because that should not be happening. Sororities are about becoming a better, more well-rounded person and they are supposed to help you make connections and lifelong friendships, and most sororities take a very hard stance against discrimination of any kind. I hope this helped!
