I have a stocking my mom made me when I was little, she passed away in 2022 so it is a very cherished treasure and it feels like she is still with me. I love switching between books and audio books especially while cleaning.They make cleaning go by faster and I can make progress on the book. I enjoyed Divine Rivals when I read it and meant to continue to the last book in the series but didn't so I probably need to re-read it first, maybe that series and Anatomy series will be part of 2025. I caved and bought the beautiful new Hunger Games series box set and Haymitch's book so I'll re-read that series as well. Thanks for the covid shot reminder! I scheduled it while listening to your video. I tried to read the Christmas Tree Farm one and oh my I had to dnf it.

I usually take my kindle when I travel as it's way lighter than a book (especially those books that are super thick and heavy. I also use the kindle when I want to read with my lights turned off as it helps me to fall asleep better than to hold a book.

I hear and understand all the wonderful things about Kindle. They're absolutely right. However, I can't read on a Kindle. I tried several times, but I couldn't focus on what I was reading. I tried. Just to give you an example, I tried reading The Way of Kings on a Kindle. I didn't know what was happening in the book. Then I tried it on Audible: same difference. Finally, I purchased the actual book, and now I am enjoying it. I wish it wasn't like that because Kindle reading is so convenient. I guess it's my relationship with reading. I need the book in my hands. I engage with every part of reading, from turning the pages to the smell of the book. I have so few pleasures in life (I'm old), and I refuse to give this one up. Enjoy your Kindle.

They make screen protectors that are matte. It doesn't ruin the kindle experience and your screen is protected from lotion and sunscreen.

to my hard on devices girlies: a front covering case is a must if you love to throw it in a bag and go! I damaged my last kindle because the corner of a box pushed into the screen and dimmed some of the pixels. be careful and happy reading! 💖

I read the sample of both once upon a broken heart and caraval (on Libby) and decided not to read further 😬 writing style wasn’t for me I did really like phantasma, except for the spicy scenes (very spicy, which isn’t really my thing) I found those scenes jarring and distracting. Fair amount of cursing in phantasma as well, which I also found distracting as it seemed to be set in early 1900’s. 😴😴

Am I the only person who can't stand the dark mode on Kindle and find it hurts to read?
