Love this little truck, i did manage to kill the plastic gears in the gearbox though, full metal gears were literally £7.50 and 20 mins to fit. One of my faves.

Looks like the 1:24 FMS Atlas my wife has, but with a different cab & the electronics seem a bit better. Watch out for strippage on those plastic gears, especially the middle one...

Atlas is actually 1/18. And the only difference is the cab, tires and like you said electronics. You can use the metal transmission gears for the cr18p. You can buy them from fairRC if they sell in your region. You might be able to use the metal diff gears but I’m not sure.

Same mechanics as the "old" FMS Atlas 6x6, but a different body & wheels, and the same combo receiver/ESC as the HobbyPlus CR-18 P, which is a very good thing. Same price for both (this rig and the Atlas 6x6). This one is low speed capable (not the Atlas), so, it is a good bargain. The only thing is the Atlas looks better.

6x6 seems like a good idea but there are times, usually when things are cramped, that they just don't work as well. The of course there are times it does work very well indeed. Nifty little truck though.

Think those plastic gears are derlin plastic which is considered self lubricating, it contains teflon PTFE fibres .It becomes greasy as it warms so it shouldn't require added grease. Wouldn't of thought it would be put under much stress either to get that warm.

7:01 I made a little track out of scrap pieces from around my shop like that. My slats are closer together and it's tricky because if you go too fast you bounce off and lose control.....worked out well.

Bought one of these and it is terrible. After 10 minutes the center axial gears were stripping..terrible quality and I bought it on holiday so I'm stuck with it. I might convert it into a 4 wheel drive and remove one of the axles and wheels . Thank you for sharing your post ....Harry

Why do so many things about it look like the FMS Atlas? Not the fact it's a 6x6, but little things like rear lights, battery placement, and mounting holes on the cage.

That is 100% a rebranded fms atlas. Both of these cars have an issue where the metal part of the 2 piece pinion strips out the plastic part. Aside from that, this truck is an absolute weapon!

Well, it's not. very underpowered yet still managed to twist the driveshaft like a twizzler and snap it. Esc took a dump a week later after i fixed the drivshaft. I took the body off and put it on a panda hobby rig. I have a hard time wanting to buy anything from Rochobby anymore. I want the Chevy blazer, but damn Idk if it's actually good or not.

It's a fms atlas it's exactly the same thing besides the front cab but even the way it opens, the exhaust everything is the atlas

The scaling on these is off entirely. But that's most likely bc it is based on a 1/18th chassis The unimog and truck are most likely 1/24th or 28th scale Unimogs are quite massive

Hey people, I hope this video has some life left here in the comment section. As I would like buyers guide advice. I not fully the crawler type of guy, but I sorta want to get more into it. Also I just want something that is modern, cool and doesn't tear up tires or 40 year old parts. As nearly all of my rc cars are the ones my parents used back when they were young. The only new rc car I own is the LDARC x43 which is "tearing up" my bedsheets and desk. So, a crawler, just something to unwind outside rather than tense up and hope nothing breaks while you race it, as that is essentially the only fun with a 1/10th scale buggy and streetcar. But I am torn between the FMS Atlas 6x6, the FTX Sixer and the Rock Van. Mostly the first two. Mainly because they are 6x6, entry level price, and I feel like they have plenty of upgrade room and support for the future. Essentially, the Atlas and Sixer are the same. Aside the body, tires and electronics. In the same order they are 190 euros and 140 euros respectively at the time of writing this. But I have my doubts about the Atlas as I have read bad reviews about its electronics. Aside the fact it is loud and is already annoying the daylight out of me with that noise even on video, it also appears to heat up the motor immensly and it doesn't have a drag brake like the Sixer does. Both have the same gearbox that tends to stip itself so I do intend to upgrade that asap. However of the two I like the aesthetics of the Atlas way more... (I mean the only differences are the cab, rims and tires yes) But then considering the price of it compared to the Sixer that is 50 euro cheaper, it doesnt feel worth it buying the Atlas with those mentioned drawbacks... So now I feel like buying the Sixer, and then (potentially) slapping on those mentioned bits from the Atlas. And doing the math, 5 dollar for 2 tires (so that is 13.72 euros for 6 at time of writing), 22 euros for the cab (I can't find the rims at time of writing, but oh well thats fine) from the official FMS site. However without shipping which is probably gonna be hell considering the page is in Dollars, and shipping 'Murica' to Europe is pathetically expensive for even minor things.... Quick math says I am, again ex shipping, still 25 euros cheaper off buying the Sixer and these parts, but now I got a drag brake and a (presumably) better, certainly not whining ESC. But, am I missing something here? Does the Sixer have some hidden flaws I've yet to come across? Thank you for reading, and cheers :) (Maybe in the end I won't buy all the parts from the Atlas if I do buy the Sixer, but who knows, first world problems I guess...)

The smasher esc is not the same as what comes in the atlas. And this esc is different from any of the fms esc.

True, but the first version of the Max Smasher came with the same version of electronics that the FCX24 came with, which is the same as this FTX.

This radio gear (MG41 + R4A) doesn't come with the fcx24 Power Wagon anymore either, it now comes with 3 channel gear(G3 + R3A V1) that has no drag brake adjustment, fwd/rev option ,spare channel or extra lighting connections. The Max Smasher/Smasher originally had the radio gear that's in this review, then changed to the shitty G3 + R3A V1, but now has the G3 + R3A V2 which looks identical to the V1 but has drag brake adjustment and choice of fwd/rev or fwd/brk/rev. I just bought a fcx24 Power Wagon and then returned it for this reason, all the extra esc functionality is now missing. Just bought a Sixer, at least it will have drag brake adjustment. I really liked the Power Wagon, it's a shame FMS ruined it by downgrading the radio equipment.
