Great reaction! 👍 Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way” The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

We know about the difficulties especially with this song😊. He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that. The kobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. He performed this song on the same show as Ave Maria, just not on the same day. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday. If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅. However, the lyrics can be a bit confusing as it is a traditional Kazakh type of music called Kui. In these folk songs, the Kazakh nomads used to express their daily life, such as misery, joy and freedom. The song is from the 19th century. But don't let that put you off, the song, how can I say it is a folk-rock song? But it is incredibly awesome. I really love it. Thanks for the reaction and sorry it was a pain for this one. THIS video is much harder to upload than any of his others - its due to the TV channel this was shown on being very strike happy. Yeah- a lot of Dimash's music isn't rock - but a lot of it IS ! A few more I can suggest - screaming (MV not live), across endless dimentions (MV), war and peace.

All the Dears understand how difficult it is with Stranger. So many reactors get it blocked, yet others seem to somehow slip past the net. As you say, what works to get it past their 'eyes and ears' appears to be random. I have heard some reactors say they appealed the block and it took about 4 weeks or so to get permission to show it. Meanwhile they worked on other videos and had to be patient. It would probably be good experience to appeal a block just to learn the process - obvs not this video now but maybe another one, if it ever happens again. I once tried to create and upload a video using clips of another version of Stranger that was shown on Chinese TV. I couldn't even use a few seconds audio clip without video! Everything got blocked right out the gate. At least you did manage to patch something together for this one. Thank you for your efforts, I for one appreciate it. BTW although I'm a 67 year old female Dear I also love rock, metal, rap, pop, folk, alternative, jazz, R&B and ethnic traditional. So try not to put Dears in a genre box. We don't have one, just like Dimash doesn't! 🤣🤣🤣 PS I definitely didn't like opera or sugary love ballads or musical. Then Dimash came along and did them all and I'm like ... sigh.... OK I guess can do this too, but only if it's him singing it 🤔😏

KZbin has become a little bit of a weird problem because I have seen the Stranger song still posted by the KZbinr and doesn't have restrictions or issues basically. At the beginning sounds an old Turkic stringed instrument called Kobys. It is probably the oldest bowed stringed instrument in the world and it spread to became the prototype of all European string instruments as violin an chello. That and the use of the fa minor key in the composition gives the vibe of Middle East /oriental/ exotic sound. Think he´s singing to migrants in general: "New ground far as I can see, new ground underneath my feet, Stranger in a stranger land, new chance to see who I am if I have the strength to begin again"

P.s Besides his range and total command of his voice to make all the different tones and colours and voices - one of the most impressive things about his singing a lot overlook is his incredible breath control :) I think it's at the heart of a lot of his work and he couldnt do half of what he does if it wasnt so great. Ive heard some other pro singers comment on it too.

Some other measures that I’ve seen on KZbin were putting a filter with flying little lights or snowflakes, stretching the video horizontally. Please stop the video and talk as much as you want. That’s the point of the reaction. 🤷‍♀️ The only request is to restart the video by going several seconds back because I’ve seen so many important notes “lost” in the stop breaks.

Please don't apologize. Stopping/pausing to comment shouldn't annoy anyone. That's the way reaction channels work. Anyone who complains about that doesn't understand the way reactions work. It's true that filters often work and reduced volume often works as well. None of these things are guaranteed however. Some reactors get away without all the shenanigans, but most do not. Some work really hard, as you have done, get the reaction up. Many just give up altogether and never post. Just do what you need to do. After all it's your channel and we are just visitors or voyeurs, as it were. Remember, 90% or more of us have seen these performances and videos many, many times so filtering or blocking the video isn't a deal breaker for us. Mainly trying to keep the integrity of the audio is more important.
