i just assembled the c34. I have a lot of problems with c34. Your quality department is doing a terrible job. tyres are wobbly terrible, wheels does not fit to a 5 milimetre drive shafts, Once i put them on i have to almost destroy them to take them off. just terrible. Steering linkage came updated but assembly instructions are wrong, old. thats just basic mistake. Input gear shafts are bent and because of that drive shaft cups are wobbling. front axle is not working properly. i managed to brake in the rear one according to their instructions but the front is not possible. front input gear does not mash with differential gear at all. . I don see how can all that be fixed, so i would like to return the product and for them to return the money to me...especially since they know about all the problems and still selling them like that, 100 bucks worth of garbage. they sell a part to fix diff problems instead of including it in the kit since it doesent work. so sad ...

Completely agree. The cheaper ones have more character. With what I've spent on cheaper RCs the last year, I'd could have probably bought a couple of fancy brand name ones. I prefer the smaller, hardbody crawlers though. Cheap to buy, fun to build, fun upgrading them, and fun driving them.

upgrade them right and they do incredibly well. even simple modifications help a whole lot, like increasing stock shock travel, solder+tape wrapping the rims. C14/24, 9 turns front 3 turns rear, 2 mm solder. the combo gives some flex.

I love your reviews of the more budget ones, I find these cheap ones more characterful even though I keep breaking them, upgrading them and breaking them again😃 keep up the excellent work.

think I'm at 10-11 of the WPL/MN stuff. not much breakage after upgrades but I don't hammer them TOO hard, if it can't climb just pick another line. making the B-1 framed C24 mini drift truck was easy fun building.

I love mine. Started with a C24 rtr. It was alright as a starter. Definitely worth the money considering how inexpensive they are. Then I got a C14 KM and the V3 with the sound system. That's been awesome. I've customized it pretty heavily. The C24 is just a parts truck at this point. Now I'm making a new chassis with rectangular brass hobby "tubing". I'm actually contemplating recording and posting video of the build. I'm figuring maybe people on here would be interested in seeing it 🤷‍♂️

You fueled my love for WPL and MN Models. Just got a couple Fayee trucks too. These are fun and great to play with. My B36 is my favorite that I have right now. 370 motor with reduction gear, 40 Amp ESC, 3S motor. Powerful and pretty quick. YOU gave me that inspiration with your B36 that had 10x the needed power....5x the power required should be enough for me....

why not an inrunner? then again on a budget there's the MN 260 motor+gearbox you swap a 2 dollar 280 motor into, it muscles my very overweight MN D-90 around perfectly.

@@TomleyRC I've only just got my second one working, the Jeep. The Defender has been running since before Christmas. Have yet to paint and finish the bodies though. Fun builds, but the lights can be a bit of a challenge - and then some. Still have the F150 in the box, but that one looks like a bit of a pain, with drilling holes and stuff... Almost done with the first half of my first micro crawler course too. Will be posting a quick video of it in action as soon as it's done. 😊

Bummer - I just put in an order to WPL at the first of last week. Glad to see your WPL's back. Regarding them I have a couple of questions. I'm working on a metal version C-14 like your Nut Taxi and I'm also trying to build a C-24 with a B series chassis similar to your Bitza truck. For the the C-14 I've been trying to source the "special" washers that are used for the suspension links. Looks like you has some for the shocks as well. These are to keep the little 2.5mm screw heads from going through the C series chassis. I'm curious what they are called and where you found them? For my C-24 with a B series chassis I'm curious how you attached the cab to the chassis? When I use the WPL steering shell and steering cover from my C24 the front axle does not appear to line up with the wheelwell. I'm using the leaf springs and links similar to yours that bolt up to the B series chassis rails. You lifted the body in this video and it looks like you have the WPL steering shell. The rest remains a mystery. I watch the channel every other day during lunch. Thank you for the content. I also love your Tamiya content. I'm eager for another lunchbox update. I just received parts from Shapeways designed by Ampro to convert the front suspension to upper and lower links and the clip at the rear of the chassis to keep the front of the gearbox from rocketing up when I lay into the throttle. Was just tinkering with mine yesterday. New brushed 80a esc since I already had it, makes it crawl so much better than the little cheap red ones. Redcat 370 in a 2 speed and its ridiculously fast in 2nd full throttle lol

yup 370 is too much motor for a 4 dollar ESC that cant feed it. the cheap ESC does well with the slightly smaller 280 size.

I am like you Phil, i have multiple WPL projects "on the go" have a B24 km to build, a c24 to convert to a c54, a c14 to finish, a b16 demo ranch conversion to do, as well as rebody one of my d12's. I just got a c34 single speed gearbox and 370 motor with reduction bix to go on my MN99 "Lil Blue". Res v3 is such an awesome bit of kit.... Its just getting the time to do the work.....

Glad to hear that WPL has great customer service! Had my gearbox go in my D12 and ordered new metal gears. Still on its way but the international shipping seems decently quick as of right now even with the pandemic Also, other than my RC boat, my D12 fetches the most attention out of all my RCs. Especially when you drive it around a racetrack and park it next to the real kei truck tire trucks.

Growing up I had cheaper RCs from Toys R Us and Radio Shack and was fortunate to have a few higher end Tamiyas and Kyoshos as well. I loved putting the cheaper ones to their limits and drove them differently I think we’ll because they were cheaper but if they broke that was it. I love the WPL vehicles because they sorta occupy both spaces. They’re cheap but the parts are easy to replace and you can upgrade. Basically a cheap hobby grade vehicle

I love the scale of wpl but that's about as far as my love goes. Been racing RC since the early 90's and have built countless RC car,trucks,planes,drones...ect. I have spent over $300 trying to build a bulletproof Wpl crawler and it's impossible. They break Everytime you take them out...and no I'm not bashing my rig. I just want the newbies coming into RC to know that the cheap price is awesome and the scale is amazing but it will disappoint when it comes to performance. No matter how much money you throw at it

I think WPL has 'lost their way' with the Kei or mini trucks and vans. That's just not my interest, plus they're not 4x4/crawler/trail truck unless severely rebuilt using mainly the body only.

I actually got a c-24? (The flatbed hilux) for the cab but it was fun to play with. I plan on using the axles some spare wl toys 979 tires and a old 1/20 radio shack Lamborghini I may make a mini solid axle monster truck
