"Sorry, Wrong Number" [remastered] BARBARA STANWYCK, BURT LANCASTER • Classic Radio Theater

Here is a very special treat! It's an audio version of the movie starring BURT LANCASTER and BARBARA STANWYCK . . . It's from Lux Radio Theater in January1950 with the audio nicely cleaned up! If you've heard this on another channel, you'll notice a HUGE improvement here! This version sounds SO MUCH better than the older uploads elsewhere
✓√✓√✓√✓√✓√✓√✓ Interesting STUFF-N-SUCH: This is the only Classic Radio Drama turned into a film, and then BACK AGAIN as a Radio Drama!
✓✓√√✓✓√√✓✓√✓√✓√ A little more Stuff: This Lux broadcast aired over 72 years ago on January 9, 1950. The film version and the one here are very different from the original Suspense radio broadcast. The movie was released in 1948, the original Suspense radio play (with Agnes Moorehead) was 1943, and she performed the broadcst seven times - I've uploaded a digitally remastered version for the 75th anniversary of the famous radio broadcast.

I kept looking for the movie to watch. But I kept seeing this and not listening. Then I finally clicked on. It’s so interesting.... Enjoying it this way. Gotta love the classics and the old radio shows. Leaves so much to the imagination. Many would be out off by this. But I’m just glad I was raised to be able to appreciate this.

I prefer this version with Barbara Stanwyck over the one with Agnes Moorehead, because this one goes into more detail. The story is fleshed out and it makes it so much more interesting. I love the movie too!

Jus Me I almost have the original version with Agnes ready to post. It should be done in a couple of days. Remember - Please hit the thumbs up every time for me, it counts toward my standing with KZbin. I had 100% likes up until a couple of months ago, and now it's at 98.9% cause one person decided they didn't like some stories. (Like it's MY fault for a 70 year old program!) If I see a bunch of new thumbs up, you just might see more Barbara Stanwyck! By the way - What's the picture in your image? I know it's different than a few months ago but I can't quite make it out on my tablet (and I'm too lazy to go downstairs to the den just to log on my computer!) AND OF COURSE . . . Lux was definitely amongst the best. I have pretty much all the stuff you upload. But I really dig your "remastered" copies. And I especially enjoy your cover pictures. Would love to have you upload more from Lux. And maybe some of Orson Welles Mercury Theatre/Campbell's Playhouse? The copies I have could use a bit of remastering.

I have 55 Radio Theater episodes in one playlist, all digitally restored. The Lux Radio Theater versions came from a set I bought last year. I plan to upload more very soon. My "Sorry, Wrong Number" upload is a perfect example of modern audio restoration, which I'm sure you can tell the difference from older uploads elsewhere. Also, I've been thinking of adding "The Whistler" to this channel. Unlike Suspense and Escape, I haven't listened to Whistler episodes multiple times. I've still got many Suspense episodes to upload, plus a handful of Escape episodes. I'm glad you found my channel! Have you found my restored version of Orson Welles "Les Miserables?"All 7 episodes are in my Orson Welles playlist. Welles is definitely one of my favorite creators, and if I can find Mercury Theater versions that have been restored, I'll post them!. Thanks for posting your comments! - Charlie

I think the call was dialed wrong by the operator - another "Wrong Number."

Because sadly, Evans plans to kill himself and that is where his body will eventually be. He probably assumed that Henry would do the same thing, because they're both running from the law and have no other choice.

Evans plans to unalive himself. He gave Leona the city morgue number because that is where he will be. He also assumed that Henry is there, too. Very chilling.
