It was part of what's known as the Military Entertainment Complex, there were loads of movies in the early to mid 2000's which were funded by the DOD which is why they had really accurate equipment, some of which was in development with the DOD and wasn't on the civilian market. The DOD has advised on something like 2,500 films, TV series, and video games like Red Dawn, both Top Guns, We Were Soldiers, Transformers, most of the Star Trek films, Zero Dark Thirty was made with the assistance of the CIA.

Transformers One is not part of the Michael Bay movie universe, since Transformers has a Multiverse, and Transformers One is a different universe, there are actually 3 Transformers cinematic universes. The first one starts with Transformers 2007 and ends with Transformers 5 The Last Knight. The second one starts with the movie called Bumblebee and continues with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The last and third one starts with Transformers One. Transformers One was created for the new generations and for them to like the franchise, as well as know a little about the lore that has already been seen in previous installments in both live action movies, animated movies, series, comics and video games.

@@kagurra the weird thing about the Bayverse movies is that they do a lot of retconning. Like the vast plot jump of TF2 Revenge of the Fallen to TF3 Dark of the Moon. Most of the missing parts that you might see in your marathon is because along with the movies, they released games that shows the plot that took place before. For example, the Dark of the Moon Game shows the event before the events of the movie with the same arc title, which is why you'll encounter seemingly missing plot points

General Electric makes the GAU-8 Avenger 30mm gatling gun, if you can make a washing machine spin you can make a gun spin. Oh and the Tomahawk is a type of missile

*It doesn't matter how many times I've seen the movie, the scene with Optimus and the other Autobots arriving on Earth will always give me the good kind of chills.* *Little backstory: Since I was born in 1991, I didn't get to grow up with Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus. In 2001, my first exposure to the Transformers universe was through the series Robots In Disguise, with a voice actor named Neil Kaplan providing the voice of Optimus Prime. Then from there it went to the Unicron trilogy with Gary Chaulk as the voice of Optimus. I didn't get to fully bask in the glory of the Autobot Supreme Commander until this movie came out in 2007. I have a profound appreciation for what Peter Cullen has brought to the table in the world of the Transformers. Between the live action movies (4 and 5 are horrible), and the Transformers Prime series. He is forever my favorite voice actor for Optimus Prime. I just hope I get to meet him one day before he inevitably passes.*

I've said it countless times and I'll say it again, the opening scene will never not be badass as shit! Every decepticon in this movie felt like a damn menace, and they spared no expense showing how easily and uninterrupted they can decimate an entire military wing within the first 10 minutes. A really cool added detail is that Blackout (the helicopter) scans and replicates a soldier's scope, probably thinking it's some sort of laser weapon, much to both their surprise he takes a picture of the guy when he tries to fire it.

I really like how the Decepticons infiltrated Earth silently, used Stealth and Camo, and mostly targeted Military and Government installations. And whenever they needed to transform, they chose a vehicle that was good for the job they had. Military, Law Enforcement, Planes. On the other hand, the Autobots landed in the middle of a crowded city, they were loud and made a scene with their entrance, instead of laying low and out of sight. When they transformed, they picked expensive and bright vehicles, Sports Cars and Colorful Trucks, not really useful for either laying low or finding the All Spark. There's a really good 40 minute video about these things that I really recommend more people see.

Possible spoiler: The bumblebee film and transformers rise of the beast movie take place in another universe that is not canon to Michael Bay transformers universe. In fact the newer films more lines up with the transformers one film continuity with a few references to the Michael Bay Cannon. Some other things you should check out is the 2017 power rangers movie and the Snake eyes film.

As a kid of the 80's and 90's that 2017 movie was cancer. I think the issue is that it tried to take itself too seriously and that just doesn't work for a movie about the fucking Power Rangers. lol That said, if you came up in the 2000's I guess I can understand liking that movies. I mean its not like the 90's movies were masterpieces. Well except "Ivan Ooze", that character is GOATed cuz there hasn't been a better Power Rangers' villain since. As far as the 90's movies go while they were cheesy, they played to that cringe and it made the movies sorta charming. Transformers: One is arguably the best Transformers movie as such a n excellent complex origin story but regardless of what your thoughts on the Bayverse Transformers movies are from a storytelling perspective I do still think the first movie holds up as a great action blockbuster with truly groundbreaking effects and CGI that has been synonymus with the Transformers franchise, despite how mediocre the plot and story is, as Michael Bay knows how tk keep you entertained. Peter Cullen will always be the definitive voice of Optimus as much as Kevin Conroy was and is the definitive voice of Batman.

20:10 the plane in the movie is called the A10 Thunderbolt or A10 Warthog and yes it is capable of stalling itself out with it's main gun. Another fun fact about the A10 is that the gun of the plane was actually built before the actual plane meaning that the plane was built around the gun

RIP to my beloved 97 Thunderbird, that thing was the coolest car I've ever had. Got totaled years ago by another driver. I missed him a lot today. But I loved the reaction! This one is one of the most magical and fun movies of the 2000s and my first DVD I owned. I still have it.

As a Brazilian, I am obligated to mention that there is a KZbin video that is just the first transformerd movie, edited in a way that it takes all scenes that mentions the Cube, but cuts the second half of Cube, becoming "Cu", that is also the Brazilian slang for "Ass". Which means if you cut it just right, you can hear megatron scream from the top of his lungs: "GIVE ME THE ASS"
