This is a very impressive tool and all, but I don't ever see myself using it. The biggest problem: I don't usually just use one tool in my kitchen. I'll use a foodprocessor here, have something on the boil there, make a quick dipsauce in a bowl, have something else frying, etcetera. If you only have the 21 in one thing, you can only cook one thing at the time. You'll still need all your pans and things on the side. If I have to have pans and other tools on the side regardless, why would I need this 21 in 1 thing? I could see how having a sous vide machine which doubles as a slow cooker could be useful. But I'll still need a seperate blender, I'll still need a seperate scale, etcetera. I'll just buy mysel a few good tools, instead of 1 which tries to do all of the things.

That's a pretty fair point that i didn't think of Like others have said, and like how the person who responded said, there are kitchens/situations where this is super handy. But i didn't really think about that, you can only really use one thing at a time, so you'd still have to use the rest of your kitchen to make a meal. And if you already have a slow cooker, blender and such, this product does become sorta redundant for most people. I mean, i could never afford it anyway, but yeah that is something i never thought of, soup like things is about the only meal you could make solely in it haha

@@kierancampire Yea its just one of those things. Here in Germany we have the "Thermomix" kitchen appliances from - Vorwerk - The first model Thermomix VKM5 was from 1961 and the latest model TM6 is from 2019. The model TM5 is sold since 2014 and is what many German households prefer before buying a less expensive similar kitchen appliance. You love your Thermomix here in Germany or you don't want to have nothing to do with a Maschine like this. The new Thermomix model TM6 will cost you 1370 € and you can buy this directly by the manufacturer or a Thermomix representative. What the manufacturer Vorwerk likes to do is get in contact with you when you want to purchase a Thermomix, so you can have a "cooking Thermomix party" for your friends and family. Maybe he/she can sell more than one. I do not like kitchen appliances like this, because I like to cook and I don't feel like I'm cooking with this "Maschine".

The issue I have with such gadgets - what happens if internet dies, or even worse, the company goes bust and stops supporting and updating it - and you have a $700 paperweight.
@zrobeast3 жыл бұрын
This a million times over is why I like that I learned how to cook the old fashioned way with regular stoves, pots and pans, and other accessories that aren't "smart". I know that smart appliances can be useful and neat, but when it comes to cooking, I prefer to have my eyes, ears, and nose keeping track of what's going on so I know when something is either done, or possibly going horribly wrong instead of relying on some gadget that, like you said, could be a paperweight in a few years.

Right? If samsung has already discontinued the app that is supposed to connect to my 3 year old smart tv.... Why the heck would I trust this much smaller and more niche company to not do the same? I can't stand "smart" appliances, you can barely even be said to own them.
@RaithSienar3 жыл бұрын
The other issue is that the motor will fail in a year or two, just like every modern food processor and blenders motor fails in a year or two, and then like you said you have a $700 paperweight. It's over priced smart appliance buzzword crap meant to separate stupid rich people who don't actually cook but are willing to spend tons of money on gadgets that'll make cooking at home "so much easier" from their money. You could outfit an entire kitchen with decent to good quality tabletop devices this thing is claiming to replace for half of its asking price and then you'd be able to actually cook a full meal in less time than this thing to boot.

Some thoughts: 1. It's a multi-tasker which also means it's a multi-failer. If your blender is your oven is immersion circulator is your knife is your X and your blender breaks then so does your oven, knife, and X. 2. It's a tough sell at its price because it would fit nicely into a dorm room or in a home for a single person with limited space, but the price reflects high-end kitchen kit. A student is more likely to avail themselves to a Big Mac than they are to preparing a gazpacho. Maybe it'll see some use in Manhattan or wherever people get 30sqm apartments in London. 3. It looks nice, I think once it hits mass-market and the competition figures out how to get the price down it'll do a lot for a lot of people.

Straight out of the box we had a delicious mushroom soup for supper and it quietly beavered around in the background whilst I prepared the salad main course. My only criticism would be that it’s a little slow on picking up our otherwise excellent wireless - router just one room away and I can use my iPad happily in the back garden, but if the problem persists I can add a repeater to the kitchen area. Thanks again, Andy

So, after looking at the kickstarter page and watching this, I would have a few questions. 1) It connects to the internet. Does it have to connect to the internet? Some companies have gone to the model where you need to be online even if you're not using the online function, and that makes things difficult. 2) How long does this thing last? The warranty is for 2 years, but if I buy this and it stops working in 4 I'm not gonna feel like it was worth $700. 3) Can you change the sound or voice setting? Because otherwise it's going to get very tiresome very quickly 4)An instant pot, a good blender, and a scale does everything this does besides knead and sous vide, for between a third and half the price. Are they saying the two extra features and taking up slightly less space is worth double the cost, or am I missing something? (I'm not including the recipes because of the million instant pot recipes online, but that still doesn't make up the difference if you include it) I don't hate this, far from it, but I'm a bit hesitant when it's this big of an investment in a kitchen.
