In the 3D sorts, there's no easy way to show the different lists the algorithm uses, so they're ignored and only the main list is shown. (Or maybe there is, or perhaps I'm just incorrect.)

@XFSEO
@XFSEO 2 жыл бұрын
My best guess is that the algorithm focuses on one part of the list, sorts it, then goes to sort more parts of the list while combining said part with the previous part it JUST sorted. In 3D visualizers, the 1st part hasn’t been sorted yet, and it cant really show the model if it’s focused on only one part of the list. So, it’s doing its job correctly, it just isn’t viewing the whole list.

I didn't manually set the access functions, they were dynamically computed with special linear algebra. I only gave it a few terms to approximate for. So even though it might not be exactly nlogn, the access function displayed in the video is extraordinarily close to what it actually is.

In-place gravity sort, it's the worst quadratic sort, isn't it? Maybe even worse. I mean, it's ranked 23rd out of the 23 sorters, makes 10k accesses with 509 per second, and has the access function formula as 4n²+4n = 4(n²+n)... Similar to "in-place" LSD radix sort: slower to make all the changes from the array itself with a limited amount of numbers to hold (in base 10, 10 numbers). Then again, most gravity sorters are slow (O(n²), O(n) only in special hardware).
