Hey, just a tidbit. Otto in every single iteration dies before the attack on village when Subaru rushes back to Emilia. Subaru only saves Otto as an afterthought because he went for a 100% clear rate facing betelgues. It's not that Roswell misses Otto in the sense of missing a player but that Otto was literally never meant to be there.

Fun Fact: When Petelguese kills Rem in S1 he tells Subaru that Subaru is the one who killed her, that he killed the one he loved. That line gets an extra depth of meaning after seeing this episode.

Rewatching Season 1 after this is really fun because then you start noticing certain details like how Betelguese's dialogue to Subaru was actually referencing Fortuna or the scene where Emilia began tearing up after killing Betelguese

Btw small thing to notice, now that Emilia froze the forest she froze at the same time Black Serpent poison. So in the OVA Frozen Bonds when she meets that Serpent Poison it's the same one that killed Archie when they were fleeing. So Melakuera the Great Fire spirit releases it when it comes to the forest to start melting it down.

While it might be such a case, I would doubt that these are misdirects, but instead details that help guide our theories: 1. Emilia's father is Fortuna's brother. Emilia's mother is Fortuna's sister-IN-LAW. Fortuna has said: "You (Emilia) look just like my brother" "(something,something) sister-in-law" (forgot exact sentence and situation, but basically praising/defending Emilia's mother) 2. As seen in Frozen Bonds, it was then that she realized why she was different from the elves frozen in the village, that she is a half elf. (46:10-47:08) This flashback, and general discourse in the Re Zero world, implies not only are half-elves basically a one-in-a-few-hundred-year occurance, but most importantly that the elf village, is in fact, inhabitated by pure elves. 3. Emilia's a half elf, 50% human, 50% elf, as she was affected by the barrier. 4. Fortuna's a pure elf, and so would be her brother. Therefore, Emilia's mother must be human. Of course, future revelations could/would probably change this. It's always amusing when the Bros sometimes default back to their original assumptions after an episode or two, that is until they go too overboard with it Otherwise, as explained earlier in the series, there are two types of magic sources in Re Zero, one from one own's "gate", and one from spirits. So it seems Emilia does have both Gate magic that she uses in this flashback and in memory snow, and Spirit Arts which she uses for all her magic used so far. Judging by Frozen Bonds and here, her Gate magic can be uncontrollable and thus dangerous. Haha, I do wonder whether it will take until S4 or S5 or something (no idea how the future arcs are going, of course) that the Bros will finally not mix up the "race" of Emilia's parents XD

There is also the chance that Emilia’s father/Fortuna’s brother is also a half-elf, from another mother/father than Fortuna’s, or maybe both Fortunate and her brother are half-elf’s, the only full-elves we’ve seen other than Fortuna(maybe?) have been blonde, so maybe only half elves have white hair? If Emil’s is a _half_-elf and she is the daughter of Satella who is also a _half_-elf, then that would mean her father is also a _half_-elf or is a species that has no influence of the genes, which would make sense to be spirits, which would support the Puck is be father theory, but I don’t think puck would be Fortuna’s brother, which makes me think that Emilia’s father would have to be half elf...?

Considering how insistent certain people have been about how Re Zero is very strict with hair colour when it comes to the witches, and Emilia, I could see tbeing a point to keep in mind. (Time skip) Checked back on Ep 17, there are some elves with bright blue hair, some light orange, etc. Their hair colour is quite colourful, so Fortuna's white hair isn't *as* sus as if the whole elf village is blond.

Some clarification to your early points in the discussion: -From Fortuna's comments, she knew both her brother and her sister-in-law. And Geuse implied he's far older than Fortuna (and he lived during the time were Satella lived, from his comment about Flugel) So the timeline doesn't match if Satella is Emilia's mother. Furthermore, it was implied by Fortuna, that it was her brother who was an elf (and Emilia is half-elf) which means her mother was human. Heck, Satella is a Half-elf, so if she had a daughter, she would be quarter-elf no matter what. So her having a half-elf (Emilia) daughter, doesn't work. -The theory of Pandora's powers being Illusion based would be good. If it wasn't for the fact that she did away with Regulus Corneas last episode, with her words, and the consequences of his actions disapearing. No Illusion's there. Reality warping seems likely.

Psychoanalysis of Guese: Geuse is the archbishop of sloth is because his efforts betrayed him. His greatest regret is falling to save the one he loves by trying to save them. As a result he ends up liking to mock the efforts of others, especially to save those they love. I'm sure Rem, in a frenzy, trying to save Subaru, reminded him of himself.

No he's the Archbishop of Sloth because he took the Sloth Witch Factor. Geuse actually embodies the opposite of Sloth, Diligence. That is why he was incompatible with the witch factor and broke down physically and mentally.

Just to clarify... Satella CAN'T be Emilia's biological mother because we know that both of them are Half-Elves, therefore both of their parents had to be one full Human and the other to be a full Elf, and in Emilia's case we know that her father (Fortuna's brother) was a full Elf and her mother was a human.

NO MANGA SPOILERS, i only watch anime so no one confirm this From what i witnessed, she seemed to display the ability to rewind specific events (E.g Romeleus Corneaus no longer being there), as you both said, possible illusions: 'i thought you were killed' - 'oh? you must have missaw', then there's the fact she made the illusion of Fortuna smacking Emilia only to realize it was still Pandora But here's the last thing i don't see many mention.... She displayed some ability to alter people's memories and psyches Memory with the obvious where when Emilia was rampaging, she wiped her memories so she wouldn't remember Pandora, thus no negative past and easier for Pandora to manipulate her later. But the latter i've not seen anyone mention which is when she walks over to Romanni Conti and whispers something in his ear.... suddenly he gets up and follows her like a loyal servant, cackling, while yeah he seemed to already be losing it due to the witch factor and the obvious events of Pandora giving the illusion of Fortuna being her... i still don't think even in his crumbling sanity he'd randomly go "ok i'm insane time to randomly become a servant of Pandora", that makes no sense, and i feel not even insanity can explain that, as that'd be the equivalent of explaining something away with "just magic", she did something to him, we just didn't hear exactly what, but she already before that displayed ability to alter minds in some way by wiping Emilia's memories, would it be far off to say she may have the ability to mind control a bit too and Romanni Conti's crumbling state left him even more susceptible to that? Again, you can point to insanity all you want, but i don't think even a insane person in the context of Romanni Conti would suddenly go and become a servant of the person who literally just made him kill (what seems to be) his love, if anything i feel he'd remain crumbled on the ground or violently and helplessly lash out even more on her, possibly more likely the latter, but again, getting up and walking with her and suddenly joining her makes zero sense even in an "insanity" context

Tappei confirmed Emilias mother to be human, I think it was on his twitter account when the episode aired a few month back. Aside from that, Emilia and Satella are 1:1 identical. A biological relation makes no sense. When Fortuna told Archie about how they can´t let them open the seal, she phrased it in this way "this time..." meaning the seal was broken once. Emilia is special as the key is tied to her existence. Betelgeuse knew her parents and Flugel. The sage who helped seal the Witch of Envy 400 years ago. Fortuna knew Pandora as she seems responsible for the death of Emilias parents.. There´s minor facts cut in the anime such as Echidna mentioning hating Emilia because she couldn´t stand her mother.. but Emilia is only 100 years old supposedly and Echidna died 400 years ago. If anything I think Satella also had the key to the seal like Emilia. I also think this all is deeply connected to Flugel and the fact that people from earth came to this world. I can only recommend to read the novels.
