Something interesting in the fight is that Sensui tanks Hiei and Kurama's attacks, but dodges Kuwabara's. I think that shows that the Dimensional Sword could actually damage him, but Sensui outclasses him physically, so he can't get a hit on him. You see Hiei getting a drop on him, but he was able to tank the attack, but imagine if he had the dimensional sword?

Too bad Kuwabara is a crappy martial artist, this not being offense to him as a character, but he wields swords like baseball bats. If Kuwabara actually studied or took some formal training, he could've actually stood a chance against Sensui because his sword is easily the most deadliest weapon in YYH.

@@nikolab.4065 Well that's the problem, who's going to properly train/teach him? Genkai hasn't shown being willing to do so (even though she's had ample opportunity), Hiei lacks the patience to properly teach him swordsmanship, and Kurama himself is no swordsman. I personally think that even if he lacked proper sword technique, at least having Genkai put him through the same training she did Yusuke would've made him much more effective in this fight.
@Barret95592 жыл бұрын
That moment where Hiei threw the Dragon at Sensui and shouted, "Here's a one way ticket straight to hell! YOU BASTARD!!", is the moment you realize exactly how much Yusuke meant to him. Hiei went straight to his most powerful and dangerous technique to avenge Yusuke along with the raw emotion in his voice.
@Crimson_Titan2 жыл бұрын
That, and the scene where once they landed in Demon world, and Sensui donned his sacred energy armor, Hiei immediately powered himself up w/ the dragon. And as he was doing that, Kurama has that line of "this may be the first time Hiei's been willing to die for anyone other than himself". Which isn't necessarily true, as both he & Kurama were about to charge at Toguro after he announced his intention to kill Kuwabara in the DT. Still, it was a very epic moment for Hiei.

I think Feitan's armor in HxH when he fights Zazan is a throwback to Sensui's armor
@magichaostuff12732 жыл бұрын
When seeing this as a child, I always thought something of a strategy could be if Kuwabara could have Hiei and Kurama help him get the one hit in with the dimensional sword, as Sensui was avoiding him. Honestly and now as a grown-up, I wonder if Togashi's original plan was to have Kuwabara actually be the one to win here, but executive meddling stopped him in the end. The narrative setup he made felt too perfect for that not to happen anyways.
@silversauceran2 жыл бұрын
All of them are fighting on emotions right now, not with strategy. Kuwabara's sword was mainly to deal with the Kakkai barrier and nothing else. Kuwabara winning would be anticlimactic since he has little struggle or relation to Sensui, nor does he have the power to fight him. Narratively, there's not much there, and there has already been setup for Yusuke to return.
@magichaostuff12732 жыл бұрын
@@silversauceran I'll respect that you have a different way of thinking about it, but I do disagree that Kuwabara and the others winning here would have no impact or be anticlimatic - Kuwabara being a key player to the whole situation has been built up for the whole arc, and Yusuke passing the torch to him was the whole point of the fight once he realized he couldn't handle it at the time. There's also the fact that this would fall in line with Kuwabara's wish of always fighting Yusuke but never winning, and in the end it would be through Yusuke's very sacrifice that he wins something Yusuke could not. How poetic is that? Saying Kuwabara and the others winning here would be anticlimatic would be somewhat similar to saying that "Meruem vs Netero in HxH would be anticlimatic because Netero wasn't even a main character". Other than that, Togashi isn't one to all that often make his fights be (entirely) about who punches harder, which is what this saga's last one mostly turned into (I do love Sensui's conclusion afterwards though). And don't get me wrong, I'm really happy he comes back but the way Yusuke's return was written happens to be the one thing in all of YYH that I felt needed more work/foreshadowing to not feel a bit too out of left field, but to each their own.

@andresousa1012 жыл бұрын
@@StargazerZ99 So, King Yenma was commiting a bunch of crimes just to keep himself in power, he would kidnap weak demons, brainwash them and make them do evil stuff in the human world and fake information just to make the demon world look bad, to make it look like that taking the demon's territory was something righteous. After Sensui stoled chapter black, Koenma started doing a lot of research on the old documents of the spirit world, he discovered all that and managed to dethrone his father, now the Kakai barrier got deactivated and demons can just come and go from the human world (by the way, this whole thing happens off screen in the manga). We get a really cool page of Yusuke looking at the sky and wondering if he killed any of those innocent demons that got brainwashed. With demons now casually going into the human world, Yusuke opened a small ramen shop because he is apparently a good cook, but this was just a front for his actual job, which is basically an actual detective agency where people go to him to solve any spiritual related problem. Also Koto, Juri and the nurse woman became idols in human world, which is not that important but its kinda funny. Not much is done after this because the manga ended a few chapters after this, but it really felt like they were building a new status quo for the series to continue even further.
@em5522 Жыл бұрын
@@StargazerZ99idk if you ever found out, but if you still don't know. I think you are going to love the closure to Sensui's character arc and how the end of this arc conects with the begining of the next, but sure you are going to complain about the twist that comes in next episode. I like Chapter Black a lot but I feel that Dark Tournament is better. One of the reasons why I think that way is that the end of this arc feels a little bit anticlimatic, while the dark tournament flows so well imo. Bringing Genkai back was a questionable choise by Togashi, but that lead us to witness one of the best moments of the series (Genkai and Toguro's last conversation in spirit world)
@the_markoman2 жыл бұрын
People will have to correct me, but I seem to remember Togashi saying in an interview that he wasn't all too happy with the end of Yu Yu Hakusho due to stress and studio meddling. And I personally see the signs of it at the end of Chapter Black, and toward the middle of the next arc. Sensui in his silly divine energy armor feels like what you'd see in a filler ending of an anime where someone else stepped in to write the most cliché conclusion to the arc.
@jasonblaise67862 жыл бұрын
Togashi is never happy with his work, it’s one of the reasons he’s one of the best mangakas the world has ever seen 😅. But even with the meddling YuYu Hakusho remains as a top tier anime for all time. I do think the last arc is the weakest of all though but even that one was freaking amazing compared to other anime
@Barret95592 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I really like the last arc, because Yusuke turning everything on its head and getting everyone to accept using a tournament instead of war to settle who would rule sounds not only in character for him, but makes sense with so many of his friends now in powerful and important positions in the enemy kingdoms. I honestly would have liked the three-way war with Yusuke, Hiei, and Kurama fighting and having to try to kill each other A LOT less. Especially after this and their reaction to Yusuke coming back alive.
