Question translated : "Why did you run away? And who was this person?" Here is the full story of our interaction with this person. We were on Tashir street, the main shopping street in the center of Yerevan. The man approached us and said he was a traveler working on a project where he draws people. We politely decline as we did not have time while we were filming for the day. The entire time he spoke to us, he was already drawing and began to follow us as we walked away. Before we started filming again we had already asked him not to follow us. The rest is in the video. Amber was getting much more uncomfortable and Nathan's next course of action would have been much more confrontational. We saw an alley we could disappear down and took the opportunity. You cannot follow someone if you can't find them!

Oh my god! I’m an American traveling to Armenia soon for a month(not only Yerevan) and I’ve been trying to find videos that aren’t just the highlights or walking tours of Yerevan and this was exactly it!!! I wish there were 3-4 of these style videos it made me so excited I started laughing out of excitement! Thank you. I do have a contact in Yerevan so my experience will for sure be streamlined but this was such a peace of mind hit as I’m very analytical about my every step. Thank you thank you thank you, just earned a sub! I will also travel to Tiblisi on that same train afterwards so that’s awesome to see the cost of it.

We love to hear this!! We make videos that we would want to find and watch before going to a new place. Hopefully our train and Tbilisi videos post before your trip. If not, we would be happy to answer any questions if we can. Thank you for the sub and following along!

I am surprised to see two sculptures by Fernando Botero (Colombian sculptor) in your video, one of which was Nathan's all time favorite as you said ;-)

There were two similar sculptures! Thank you for the info! Yes, still my favorite. The mustache was one of a kind! 😃

I believe the country of Colombia and Armenia have like a sister relationship. They actually have an Armenia in Columbia not because there are a lot of Armenians there, but because I believe one of the dignitaries or leaders of the country married a beautiful Armenian woman.

Thank you for the video! It was really interesting,be safe! I'm from a Vanadzor city, Armenia and will move to Yerevan next year for education purposes. Frankly,I'm quite scared as foreigners come more and more to live in Yerevan and everything becomes EXPENSIVE and SCARY compared to Vanadzor.I'm not used to places with lots of foreigners and God knows what can happen. Especially when you're bloody broke those prices scare me😅I hope everything goes well.

After traveling to more than 50 countries across Europe and Asia, this video shows the first time we were followed or had any confrontation with another person. Although higher costs are unavoidable in any major city, please do not be afraid! Meeting people from all over the world is a big reason why we travel. You should always take care of yourself and be aware of your surroundings but we are never in constant worry something bad is going to happen. Good luck with your studies!

@@SOSASATSUNRISE I've been to some countries and LOVE meeting new people but living among them for years will be a new experience and nowadays going to another country is cheaper than going somewhere in Armenia despite of already living here which sounds unusual for Armenia. Anyway, Thanks a lot!!

I remember seeing a video of a lady, walking with her friend, they were being followed. She stopped, calmly walked back to him, then "SCREAMED!!!!!!!" right in his face. She then returned to her friend, like nothing happened. The man backed off quick. P.S. Found the video. Not exactly the way I remembered it. Search KZbin "Moment woman SCREAMS at man when he tries to give her money"

Check out our following videos as we traveled to Tatev to see a monastery. However, look into how the border dispute in the south is unfolding. Tatev may not be the direction you want to go. As we said in this video, there are so many other monasteries to go see. Hope our videos help! Have so much fun on your travels!

Wonderful guide, thanks guys! Looking at all the signs, Yerevan seems to be a very bilingual city. I'm wondering how much Russian you heard being spoken in the streets vs signs in the two languages.
@SOSASATSUNRISE Жыл бұрын
Not sure! What we began to realize while traveling through the Caucasus, and other former Soviet countries, is many people really resent even knowing Russian and would much rather use their own language. Thank you for watching!
@Yolk421 Жыл бұрын
Armenians in Armenia learn Russian as a second language in school. They right now have a lot of Russians living there. And don’t have a problem with Russians.

I think confronting was the right thing to do.. you could've also approached any of the many police cars patrolling there, they'd gladly tell that guy off.. what a weirdo.. never knew someone like that could exist in Yerevan.. also GG (the local version of Uber) works much better than Yandex, and GG drivers are nicer from my experience

Clearly, the man was not Armenian! Sadly, strange folks do receive visa's and should not be permitted to enter. According to Numbeo's latest Crime Index by Country for 2023 has ranked Armenia 7th safest country out of 142 countries in the world. In this list, Qatar has the first place, and right after Armenia, Japan is in the 8th place, Switzerland is in the 9th place, and Bahrain is the top ten. Your videos are outstanding and you provide great insight to cost! Most vloggers, tend to gloss over the cost. Cheers

I highly recommend you guys not to promote Yandex at all. Quote from finnish public media service YLE: "Yandex, the owner of the Russian ride-hailing service Yangon, planned an advertising campaign in Finland targeting the Estonian competitor Bolt. Yandex's main goal was to flood the Finnish media with critical articles about Bolt. Yandex claimed that Bolt misuses EU money and treats its drivers badly." I bet it's difficult to avoid Russian related businesses all the time. Enjoy your journey, stay safe!
@SOSASATSUNRISE Жыл бұрын
Thank you for this. That's probably one reason we were told to pay in cash. Unfortunately we continued to use Yandex Go in our future videos as we traveled east. You're right to say it is hard to avoid but we also don't want to promote a bad company. Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts.
