How to make a really cute crossover baby bib from a free sewing pattern.
Not the most glamorous of items, but an everyday essential and no one wants a grotty one when you can have a really nice home made one instead.
It has a cross over front with the option to have two different fabrics, plus, its fully reversible so you can have another two different fabrics on the back if you want to. The perfect way to use up 4 smaller leftover pieces of fabric from other projects.
With the 4 layers of fabric, this is going to be long-lasting, hard-wearing in the wash time after time and won't be likely to leak mess through to any nice clothes underneath.

Thanks for the tip on attaching bias so that it catches the backside - wish I would have done that back when I made my potholders!

I made two of these this weekend and if I had had more time, I would have made more. More are in my future for sure! I loved making them and they are quick and easy! The only issue I had was sewing the straight stitch on the 'ties' themselves. I had a hard time controlling the fabric because it is so thin (almost as wide as my foot) and trying to keep it straight. Ugh! Practice and patience I guess! I hope no one sees my wonky stitches! LOL!

if you reinforce the ends of the tape with a strip of the fabric you could use snaps i'm going to make some that way

cutflower Yes I used the same top and bottom as it matched both fabrics and the binding. Plus my shop has very limited colors anyway so my threads are never the best match.

if you did not know the sex of the baby you could do girly color on one side and boy color on the other
