Sospel reminds me of the charming mountain towns in the South Tyrol! The Italian influence is present. Anyway, the best standouts of the video was another Citroen Ami there and the food looked delicious though I felt the sandwiches should have been paired with a bag of chips or a side of fries! Well worth making it up the mountain. I was surprised by the one lane tunnel because you don’t see too many of those around. Thanks the Sunday outing! 😊

so glad you guys made it despite the problems with the charging points, the lunch was a disaster but anyway the sandwiches look tasty and delicious, sometimes emergency food can satisfy more than tradicional lunch. the town looks so glamours with like you said a mix between French and Italian architecture, adding the drone to the videos is a must, thanks Tim and Mr. Boo for another very beautiful and pleasant Sunday afternoon.

I wonder if one had an adapter, whether two Amis could use the same charging station? Pan bagnat! Oo, that looks especially delicious. I love old European bridges. They used to be significant pieces of architecture, requiring a Herculean effort by the local duke. It was rumored some of them had infants walled into them to curry favor with the bridge gods. Sospel was beautiful. Thanks!

I went to an Italian restaurant in Sospel in 1991 the old woman who ran it bollocked me for ordering a red wine that she considered too strong for the meal and refused to sell it to me!!! I was back there in 2005 and discovered the wonderful village of Castellar just below and Others just across the Italian border.

Another great video! Sospel looks like a nice place but I say that about all the places you visit. That's quite a tunnel! It looks barely narrow enough for the Ami but other cars use it as well so it's wider than it looks

Another great video. I've only taken the train up there, but didn't get off in Sospel(just in Tende) but it looks like a nice stop -- the train tunnel is even more amazing (it corkscrews up inside the mountain). The sandwiches looked even more Italian than the typical ones --- so used to a round pan bagnat. Looked great. Several weeks back we were in Monaco and saw two Citron Amis (and neither had damage from a rollover)!

Wow that amazing village was certainly worth all the hassle with the charge. It’s just beautiful and I love the how these small places have such amazing churches. That view from the bakery absolutely beats the view from my local bakery and those sandwiches were huge !

I was so relieved that you made it to Sospel after that climb. Thank you for the two videos. Sospel has been on my list for some time as a place to visit because of its beauty but it does look a bit inaccessible. When I have my AMI, maybe I should drive down to the south of France to visit Sospel. Now that would be an adventure! I wonder how many days it would take...😊

You should maybe get some different Type2 adapters. From 7kW it could be possible to have 2x schuko, to charge the battery bank while charging the car. From 11kW you could possibly have 3x schuko (Note that you should not try the 7kW adaper at an 11kW station, would cause overloading) (If you try to use th 11 kW adapter at a 7kW station, only on if three would work) At a 22 kW station you could use either adapter

@@MeandMonAmi at least Matron has a TYPE 2 TO 3 X SCHUKO (3 X 16A). You would get 3 working sockets at any 3 phase station, aka. 11kW or more. But only one working from a single phase station. (One advantage could be, if phase 1 is out from the grid, but 2 or 3 is still powered, you could move your plug to another output, but it's possible that the charging station control circuit might only be powder by phase 1, then you're still out of luck) I don't think a double schuko from a single phase 7.4 kW station is a very good idea, because of safety. It could be ok in the right conditions, but possibly unsafe if you try to use it in the wrong place. Technically it could probably be ok in the right place, but possibly not ok in other places.

I enjoyed learning about the bridge that started off as wooden and then it was rebuilt and then was built again. I live in Windsor Vermont, and we have the longest double spanned covered wooden bridge in the world connecting us to Cornish, New Hampshire.When you mentioned people paying fines, to have their donkeys carry goods across the bridge it reminded me of our bridge. On the Cornish New Hampshire side at the top of the bridge there is a sign that says” Walk Your Horse or Pay a 2 Dollar Fine”. Thank you for another wonderful video! Love from Vermont

Lovely village, valley and lunch, and quite a pleasant antidote to range anxiety, it was a pleasure to enjoy it all. And at 6:00, I was wondering if the CEE7/7 'Schuko' plug you are encountering are 13 or 16amp, and if it might be possible to charge two AMI's off a single CEE7/7 charge point or Elton and your power-bank together? I expect that if you have a 3.6kw (30Amp) Level-2 charger, with a proper dual 2-prong adapter cable you should be able to charge Elton and your power bank (or possibly two AMIs) at once. If you think there's a market for such an adapter I could look into engineering an adapter? I suppose if you had access to two chargers, you could use one to charge Elton and the other to charge your power bank...

@@MeandMonAmi Cool, I'd be interested in seeing the result. I expect you will over-amp a 12 to 16amp 2-prong outlet, and that could trigger some sort of over-current protection or possibly pop a breaker that would need to be reset, (could that be why some chargers are dead?) If you were to use a dual outlet 2-prong adapter on 30amp Type-2 adapter, It would be good safety precaution to have a 16 to 20amp circuit breaker for each outlet prevent over-amping each socket and possibly creating a fire hazard. My thought for a Type-2 to dual 12 to 16 amp adapter would be to include those circuit breakers, and also a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) to protect against shock hazards.

I have every sympathy with your desire to get to lunch. When we lived in Dordogneshire, life revolved around finding the next best Ouvrier’s lunch restaurant. Never more than €20 each for lunch inc wine etc.However, had to try Adoullette,Coeur de canard, Gesier and Cou de Canard farcie. Challenging!

You should pack a 1 to 2 socket Schuko adaptor on the ami. Then if you ever come across another ami charging you can probably charge 2 at the same time via a single cable. The ami only drawes 2kw and the slow chargers usually output 7kw or more. You can offer to pay then they get a free charge in exchange for sharing and you also get to park multiple amis in one space like they show you in the brochure. Before anyone complains i realise that my suggestion isnt recommended and am not suggesting everyone does this but it would be interesting to see if it worked. Maybe next time you are travelling with a friendly ami in convoy. Expecting my Ami tonic in the next week or so, thanks for all the videos really cant wait for mine to arrive. Max 40mph limit here in Jersey and its a small island on 9 miles by 5 miles so should be prefect. .....Stay Charged!

Why do you wear your hat inside the car ? It retains the heat on your head, wear it outside of the car, to help block sun rays onto your head, then remove it too cool down.
