Yeah Junghans watches are so great! The Henry is a stretch, but certainly Bauhaus-ish :)

Even my small Braun Alarm Clock captured the Bauhaus vibe. Yep, I think #2 looks large and something just out of symmetry. The wrong font and spacing of the Brand on a dial (like the Henry) can screw up the ascetic of an otherwise stylish piece.

The Bauhaus was an art school - not an Aesthetic or Style. Historians have simplified our understanding of the Bauhaus down to some well-known rules and principles famously taught at the school - which resulted in the coolly formal aesthetic and rational functionalism we've come to associate with The Bauhaus ...and German Modernism generally. However, there was another much more colorful and playful side to the Bauhaus too (Peter Keler, Oskar Schlemmer, Kurt Schmidt, Wassily Kandinsky). It could equally be argued that the transparent "Jellyfish" watch made by Swatch in the mid-1980s has a strongly Bauhaus-influenced aesthetic too (although, being a purely Postmodern object, it makes no concessions to Bauhaus design theory or principles).

The very first model of the Movado Museum - the one in the MOMA - is extremely Bauhaus. Makes me wonder why they never reissued that one.

Not sure if it's Bauhaus or just Bauhaus-y, but I'd recommend you try out a Mondaine someday. The one I have is the ultra-thin 36mm unisex quartz from their "simply elegant" line. I think I looked it up too, I'll have to check it out again, and make a note of it. I think the only thing I don't care for - is also their trademark. The seconds hand. hehe

I can only comment on the Junghas wristwatch because I owned two of the automatic version of it and it is the worst watch I have ever purchased. The timekeeping of both watches is never accurate. One is two minutes faster and the other is one minute late. I would not advise anyone to buy such an expensive wristwatch that is not accurate. The hand-wound version might be different in terms of timekeeping accuracy I don't know because I didn't own one. 13:17

@@KillingTimeWithNorman I watched a video of yours on KZbin on the black Junghans in 34mm you unbox, it is the hand-wound version, not the automatic one. I would advise people not to buy the Junghans automatic wristwatch because the timekeeping is not accurate. I took both my Automatics Junghans wristwatches to the store I bought them from, and they sent them for an inspection if it is faulty. They returned them and said that there is nothing wrong with the watches and that is how they are being designed. It is less than a year old, and they won't let me exchange them for the hand-wound version. I wasted (£1,685) on watches I will never enjoy wearing very, very, sad. All I am doing now is letting the world know that Junghans is manufacturing an automatic wristwatch that is not fit for purpose.
