You uploaded this about 30 min before I was about to attempt to level my floor lol I was worried about not doing it right or messing up somehow. Your advice and especially your prayer at the end has given me the confidence I needed! Thank you!

These videos are by far the best I have found on KZbin! They are clear, concise, and are taught at a level that is understandable to the novice but not yet over-explaining to the point that you lose interest. I also enjoy that the main points are repeated during the video which is a fundamental teaching technique. Before these videos, I was intimidated by the idea of laying vinyl planking. It was the prep most of all that I felt most intimidated by. The videos presented a clear and logical progression of steps and I have confidence in this successful completion of my laminate floor. Please keep up the good work!

I absolutely love your videos. The one and only that knows the business inside and out and willing to share your expertise. I have your vinyl flooring recommendations and feel when I go purchase my floor I have the confidence to choose wisely. I just wish you could do the installation. A shame I live on the northern West Coast. Keep it up!

Joe! I am about to start laying LVP throughout our brand new house. You have given me the confidence that I can take this project on. I have watched probably close to 5hrs of your videos so I just wanted to comment and say thanks! Love the prayers at the end of the videos too. God is good!

Great advice. Wish it came out before I went crazy with too much leveler on on first use of the stuff. Also, being a DIYer I never thought of using another product than that water like self leveler, now I know. Thanks! God has truly blessed us by letting us find and learn from you. May the Lord bless you and your family. 🙏

Hello I have a question about particle board sub floors. After removing carpet my sub floor is in horrible shape. Should I replace with new particle board or something different? The floor is going to need leveling as well. Thanks for your help.

@SoThatsHowYouDoThat I have this exact same project ahead of me. What would you suggest to do here? I want to do it right, not trying to cut corners and have it turn out wonky. Thank you for your videos and God bless

Hey Joe. love your videos and they've been keeping me busy while I get ready to lay out some plank for about 600ft on the main floor. We have existing hardood we're going over, I was wondering if you have a prep video/tips for getting your old hardwood ready to cover. (working on squeeks and hoping to leave the existing character baseboards on and use 1/4 down) For the record before anyone gets pissy, it's been sanded down in the past and is pretty beat up. We''re moving on from it :)

Do you inspect the integrity of floor joists before putting down copious amounts of floor leveler to make sure it can handle the extra weight?

thanks for all these videos. Quick question, if something says its ok for VCT is it also ok for LVP?I'm from Canada so unfortunately I can't get most of the products you talk about

I’ve got a huge vinyl plank install coming up at a cabin we just bought and I’m watching these videos over and over and over again. They are a the best on the subject by a mile! I’ve seen them all several times. Now, I know it must be frustrating after giving us all this info to have someone say “more please” but I haven’t seen anything on the last 5-10% of the jobs. Do you use that foam backer rod or silicone in the expansion joints? Reinstalling trim? I feel guilty asking but it would make for some great viewing to see how you finish things up on an install. Regardless, thanks a ton! These videos are a godsend!

I will do that.

On your DeWalt surface grinder, what setup do you use for grinding down peaks in wood subfloor? Is it a hook and loop pad, resin fiber discs? I have a DeWalt, but the spindle is too short. The disc and backing pad don't stick out far enough to use the dust shroud properly

Hey Joe, thanks for all your videos, they've been a godsend! I just poured my first self leveling pour today and thanks to you it went awesome. I used Henry 565 and now have to switch brands for the rest of the project because of availability. The NXT Level Plus dataset says the minimum thickness poured over wood is 1/4 inch, is that true?
@sothatshowyoudothat2 жыл бұрын
Anything less would be easier to just fill using Henry's 549.

Does it get crunchy and break down over time? On osb i used some laticrete in a bathroom and it has gotten crunchy over time. It wasnt the next level "plus" i dont think.

How deep of a dip would it have to be before you would use Nxt Lvl vs Ardex?
@Zombieboxx12 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have an Idea you could make as a series of episodes. It would be on how to use each of the common sold/used adhesives and what it's spreading styles are for each of its applications. Mannington 711, Benchmark (variety), Robert's and others.

Question, what if my subfloor has a half inch hump in the middle?
@HOLMES-B2212 жыл бұрын
I'm about to put down 1/4" AC plywood on top of an OSB subfloor in a small bedroom. I have two low spots 1/4" to 3/8" that look exactly like 7:18 in your video. I was thinking of using Ardex Feather Finish on these spots, but I think it only comes in 10 lb bags and I would need multiple bags. Did you use NXT Level Plus in those spots too? Also, would NXT Level Plus be okay to use under LVP?
