This guy is genius. Great at what he does. Built my entire flooring for my house using these methods. Looks so much better than all my friends who have pros install it. This video would've saved me two of trying to figure out this stuff when I started as a DYIer. Thank you!

"Joe Knows"!!. I wish I would have watched this video before I started my house. Especially his advice about planning for doorways. Joe is amazing. Some more advice for newbies (like me): don't even think about doing vinyl plank flooring without an oscillating saw. I did my entire 5 rooms and 4 closets with a hand saw and mitre box. Never again!

great instruction videos..this is second I watched. only thing is I've always described tongue and groove opposite of what u say in video so aside from that driving me crazy it's good stuff and I'll use it putting down my vinyl floor this weekend...thx!

@@sothatshowyoudothatI did, very closely and I call the protruding lip the tongue side and the groove side the "groove" and to me it looks like ur saying the exact opposite

Thankyou for all the awesome videos of information!. Leveled 400sq ft of concrete slab. Used a laser instead of snapline I located my where first row is going to start. Glued down pieces of plank. According to the manufacturer a vapor barrier 6mil needs to be installed as well as my pad all sentinel items from floor/ decor. My question is I don't see you install any of those when you are doing videos on concrete. My immediate dilemma is I can't install these barriers. Pads with the pieces glued down unless I cut around them and overlap at the end.! Your thoughts are appreciated.

Usually vapor barrier is only required on a Concrete subfloor not wood.

About to start my first LVP floor install. I'm installing it in a living/dining room and adjoining kitchen. It will be same type/brand of plank in both areas but kitchen is a tile, whereas living/dining is a plank. Can I forgo a transition and simply connect the plank to the tile if the two are compatible?

Installing LVP over cement slab in a bedroom. The closet has a sliding door with a bottom rail. Should I drill through the planks into the slab to install the bottom rail? Glue the bottom rail to the vinyl planks? Thanks...

I’m curious about the small strip you will be left with at the start of your install. Is this something clients like or will it be hidden by baseboard. Did you plan for that. Just trying to learn as I have a big job coming

hi, i'm from Quebec ,canada. Are there canadian distributors of Flooret planks?

Im confused on one thing. In one of your other videos you say to start in the hallway but then here you start up against the exterior wall. Can you clarify, please? Is it because this floor plan doesn’t really have a hallway? What about L shaped hallways where the planks will turn out to be perpendicular to some of the doorways after the hallway bends? Thanks for your videos. I’m about to do a whole house with no transitions.

how do you decide which way to run the planks? just the long axis of the house/room with the length of the plank?
@1turboflush7 ай бұрын
Joe, do you have any videos that show how to handle transitioning from a long hallway that runs parallel to a stairwell and going down those stairs? I always thought you should run planks down the hallway instead of across it. But the top of the stairs would require planks going across the stairwell and hallway to connect to top stair plank. What is the best way to handle that?

I don't see any baseboards, so does that mean that you go to all the trouble of removing all the baseboards before putting down the flooring?

Hello. Can you recommend something that I can use on OSB to fill some low spots and to feather some areas with a trowel that is not leveling compound? Just about everything out there says do not use on OSB.

my problem is that I envision the florring getting crooked as I work my way further and further to opposing walls in other rooms in the house.... how can this be avoided? most walls in most houses are not square or even parallel to each other....
