I am not -- in any way -- artistic or a knower of art. But I grew up with a grandma in Norway who had her house filled with Munch. Today, long after she is gone, seeing a Munch is so powerful. Like being hit in the stomcache, hard, with feelings. I moved to Oslo after she died, and going to the Munch museum is one of my favourite things to do. It not only reminds me of this strong amazing woman, but also gives me life. The good and the bad and everything between. Its very hard to explain in words in a yt comment.

I think he means 'envious', not 'jealous'.

Lytton333 that's exactly what I was thinking - and said out loud! Good art...

Lytton333 why he can't say jealous, when. You deep into Munch and see it live I was floored... I can, as an artist, understand his jealousy.

@@AkakaDomenjer "Jealousy" is when you have something you fear losing, whereas "envy" is wanting something someone else has and believing you cannot have it, in this case, Munch's artistic ability. The point was that Fischl said "jealousy" but he meant "envy".

He talks better than he paints. Although I must admit that I'm attracted to his paintings. Don't know what it is, compositions are ugly, drawing is not good, and still you have to look at these paintings. It's a thin line...

This little monologue is not only pathetic in its pointless ramblings, but displays extreme ignorance of what can be learned from the art of Edvard Munch. If Fischl had the least idea just how clearly this video points to his own incompetence as an artist, he would have to ban it from ever being shown. But of course every video on Fischl points to his incompetence, as does every painting by him, and so this is his entire "accomplishment" : to produce more bad art. One could write chapters and books about why Fischl is such a vastly inferior painter to Munch. Just for starters, Munch's paintings are well COMPOSED, and he deals with deep human psychology. By the way, they are also well painted, technically. Fischl's are not. Fischl's compositions are random and meaningless, surely an artifact of his total reliance on stupid photographs. I could go on and on, but it is making me sick to even think about the pomposity of this Eric Fischl.
