Some advice from a Posterior Limb of the Internal Capsule (ICpos) stroke survivor: The mouth weakness isn't ipsilateral in IPpos strokes, it's contralateral. I had a RH ICpos stroke in between the genu and where the corticolspinal tract passes through, and the lower facial weakness is on the left side (contralateral). Also it was a PCA stroke (as revealed by the MRI/MRA scans). PCA strokes are notorious for biological differences where locations of the arteries can be different in each person. So while true the MCA/VA/carotid branches can supply the blood to the PLIC, PCA artery locations can also cause that stroke, too. Why my stroke wasn't localized just to the internal capsule, and affected 5 areas of the brain (IC/thalamus/medial temporal/parietal/tip of the occipital), too. Also ICpos strokes are notorious to cause ataxic hemiparesis (which I have), that normally seen in PICA cerebellar strokes, as the same pathways the cerebellum uses also passes through ICpos. The only difference ICpos strokes don't have the truncal tribulations. So my RH ICpos stroke affected the entire LH side of my body, including the corner mouth weakness. Due to the location of my lesion, it was a milder stroke. Shoulder/upper arm/thumb/ring/pinky fingers were affected. CPSP pain from the clavicle to the upper lower arm. No foot drop, but the top of my foot is numb. Ataxia mostly in the leg. Hearing in the left ear was affected, too. Sometimes will have left ear clonus. A lot of vision problems (missed half blindness, but have a left eye upper quadrant paracentral scotoma, instead).

@@jayeetabanerjee3002 About as good as it can get with treatment options available. Can't do anything for the central vision problems. CPSP, have to learn to live with it too. Still ataxic in the leg (like trying to walk with a concrete boot on). Arm was mostly affected, but thankfully the stroke location wasn't near the corticospinal tract, so still can use my hand. Painful at times, especially the thumb (median nerve), but can at least use my hands still. Interesting thing was I had TIA symptoms before the stroke that the doctors missed in the ER the first time I was sent there. Arm first; then trunk (extreme nausea); then the leg gave out on me. Followed the ATL listing as shown -- Arm/Trunk/Leg in that order.

@@KevyneShandris Whether Initially your left side upper limb was paralyzed ? If so then after how many months you got your movement/power back to your upper limb?

Why facial muscle shows weakness and not spastic paralysis like spastic hemiplagia ??

She chose almost all color to be red in her coronal diagram, which translates her to not considering any contrast in terms of color tone. SHE REALLY NEEDS WORK in that DEPARTMENT. Maybe, everything is red to her.
