Great to see you again Sophian, post pandemic ! Lisbon is a gorgeous, though an underrated, city. I had the pleasure of spending a few days there, unplanned and at the last minute in 2016. Watching your video make me want to spend my autumn in Portugal and my late mom’s Sotong masak hitam. Her version is without soy sauce (that’s chinese infused), my mom also used asam, serbuk kunyit, and lots of black ink from the squids. And there is another version of hers which uses belimbing buloh but is watery. Belimbing gives that sourish kicks. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Hi Ezekiel, thanks for your encouraging message. I realised there are several versions and to be honest, I like sotong him with serbuk kunyit version which I cook every now and then. This is a Eurasian recipe I’ve got and wanted to share it. That’s nice to know you’ve been to Lisbon and it has changed a bit since you were last here. Hope you’ll come visit again one day! Thanks for watching and have a great weekend! 😃👍🏻
