Hi Andy, on the strength of your recommendation on the MagiBurr I purchased on and a Dremel……WOW!! It is amazing, I’m on the final stages on becoming a locksmith , these videos and job hacks are so useful thank you. A video about your most used tools would be great, keep up the good work

Had to use the burr on an Era auto dead locking night latch. The one with the security escutcheon. When I took apart to replace the cylinder found that it was faulty. No wonder nothing else worked

Hi Dave, I’ve been looking into these for when I can’t pick the locks, for the Hugh security and mul-t-locks are there any specific ways you’d use the magi or is it just a matter of shaving down the pins? Thanks

Do you need the specific dremel with the bit Andy? I have a 12 volt Bosch version and thinking of getting a few magi burrs
@cardiffpicker12 жыл бұрын
Will fit any 3mm rotary tool,,want around 25 000 rpm though
@SouberTools2 жыл бұрын
If you have the Bosch 12V Rotary Tool with 3mm Collet you should be fine. Dremel is made by Bosch so, just set it to 20,000 rpm and pop your Magi-burr in the Collet. Cheers Paul Souber
@cardiffpicker12 жыл бұрын
@@SouberTools you should emphasise how important it is to not drop the rotary tool before you even get to the lock🤦♂️, the burrs don't particularly like it. Worked a treat in practice though, better order more than 1 next time🤣🤣

@@cardiffpicker1 I'm glad you see the funny side of it. This grade of Carbide does not like impact. There's lots of different grades of carbide out there. This one has proven itself time again. The Master Kit of 8 Burrs is 10% cheaper than buying the burrs on their own.
@cardiffpicker12 жыл бұрын
@@SouberTools only bought 1 as a test, work brilliant so will definitely be ordering the multi pack.

Well done Andy, I have the magi burr in the tool bag after your vid the other day, is it only the 3 star ABS that have the trap pins?
@brighton_locksmith2 жыл бұрын
No mate. There are a few cylinders that have trap pins. But you’ll know straight away when you hit them. I’d just try and Magi Burr them too 😊
@ImGumbyDangit2 жыл бұрын
Nice work as always. That Souber Magi Burr seems to be the cat's meow. I noticed Wendt carries them and has the Master Kit with 8 bits. I just wish shipping from Europe was a bit more cost effective. 846 Today - Should be no trouble to hit 1K by end April.

6:11 Failed ERA BS nightlatch ! An internal component breaks in these nightlatches and locks the nightlatch so that even from the inside the handle will not retract the latch . There are very few options to gain entry if you only have access from the front. The nightlatch fixing plate on his BS nightlatch is FULLY protected with a hardened steel plate and is not like the non BS version. After removal of cylinder a standard HSS hole saw or drill bit will not penetrate the back plate to allow access to the nightlatch to manipulate. I discovered this myself ! Only a TCT hole saw or bit will penetrate the steel . You obviously punched off the nightlatch. This was okay as there was a concrete floor but if this was residential with a wooden or tiled floor then this wouldn’t have been an option and you would have to drill through the rear. This is an awkward job with the extra expense of having to use TCT holesaw or bits ? I keep a an old sample of one of these in the van for reference when I get called out to one so I know exactly where to drill to manipulate it open.
@brighton_locksmith2 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy. Very informative. Keeping an old night latch on the van is a great idea 👍🏼 Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

Can you tell me more about Gav’s snub mouse ?
@brighton_locksmith2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eddie. It’s a tool designed for when the snib drops on a night latch and there is no letterbox to use the LBT on. The only way to overcome this (other than air wedging which will not always work!) is to drill the cylinder out and attempt to drill another hole in the back plate of the lock to manipulate the snib. Gavs snib mouse works as a template to drill the cylinder screws and the backplate of the night latch 👍🏼 You can purchase it here ⬇️ And if you used the code LOCKSWOOD10 you will receive 10% discount: www.abbeylocks.co.uk/product/gavin-jeffries-snib-mouse/
