I always find the beginning of this fight funny, because they are describing everything they’re doing since it’s the first episode and we need stuff to be explained to us. Like how Soul is saying ‘his soul has become an egg of kishin’ and ‘I’m a weapon too, but in human form’. Obviously this is needed for the plot to make sense but the characters essentially don’t know that. Imagine if even after tons of episodes they still start every fight explaining that he’s a weapon and that they need to get all the souls

I've seen the fights, but while Ruby has sheer speed and weapon ability, Maka holds the advantage in proficiency with the scythe and quick thinking. In this fight, she used her weapon to block and daze the enemy, while waiting for the time to strike, knocking him off balance. During her battle with Sid, she dodged a tombstone with an incredibly low margin of error. I guess for me. SE has better strategic choreography (if that makes sense), but is more slow paced.

If you mean the most recent volume, then yeah you'd be right. They're improving, it's a good fight, but it's still doesn't have the epicness and impact of Monty's work. In fact a lot of the movement is excessive, and the attacks are still halting. There's no true weight behind the blows. Also, they don't use Polearms, Raven and Cinder were fighting with overly sized swords at the closest comparison. and no, Ruby losing her scythe in 2 seconds of a fight doesn't count as good polearm combat. Good polearm combat is the first episode of the entire series.

I just want to point out that, despite the fact Maka wears a short skirt, there has never been a single moment in this entire anime where they ever do an actual up-skirt shot of her. In the manga, there's a couple jokes where they poke fun at that trope by showing a shot like that and then everyone pointing out how uninteresting it is which is almost even better. I just have to give my respects to the animators of this show, though, for respecting her design as a female character and letting her clothing choice just be her preference without capitalizing distastefully on it. And this is considering that the show could have entire content-reels of ecchi moments with other characters but SPECIFICALLY Maka is not one of them. So it absolutely had to be a conscious decision.

Ookubo tried to make the series have a little bit of fanservise due to it being very "in" amongst shonen series at the time and then got so wrapped up on everything else that he just went "ah, fuck it, Blair is right there I'm sure I'll make something happen" (and then he made Blair spend all her on screen time turned as a cat and all the fanservise is shown so casually is like is not even there) I also loved how every outfit, civilian clothes or uniform he gives the characters are very simple and makes sense for each character even to the very end. Not to mention Maka's power up dresses are all super stylish and tasteful. I think he tried harder with Fire force but then Tamaki could spend multiple chapters not flashing her panties no problem and by the end it all wrapped up as self aware and meta as it gets and he even made the characters go "yeah you know what, it was pointless, but she's a part of our team and we still love her even if her trope is dumb"

I know it's a joke but the (or some of the) money actually went to the animators and it depends on how many sakuga cuts or shots he K.Ad and/or drawing rough layouts. Well Yutapon did a lot of cuts in his animation like this one starting from 0:57-1:43. Idk if how much they gave to Yutapon. Chiaki Omigawa, Maka's voice actress has a very unique sound. Like Rie Kugimiya, who voices Kagura from Gintama and Happy from Fairy Tail, their voices are instantly recognizable. But Chiaka's especially. I don't think I've heard any other voice actress who sounds like her.
