My mom passed away on March 1. It was an unexpected heart attack from which she went quickly and peacefully. I had talks with her about dying over the years and she told me once “when I go, keep moving and don’t stop.” The day of her funeral this song was playing in my head and was giving me strength. Love you mom. ❤
My mom passed away unexpectedly in September 2022. I was missing her hard today. And suddenly I got the urge to listen to this song. Sending you much ♥️ on your grief journey. 🥺

It will only get better. Before there was Micheal Jackson, there was James Brown, before James Brown, it was Little Richard, you have singer's before and after Luther Vandross and may all these talented artist live in peace. There will be great singer's after them. Great singer's just don't make single hits, they make albums. And each album is a hit. From James Brown, Raye Charles, BB King, The For Tops, The Ojays, the Temption, The Manhattan, Stephanie Mills, Chaka Khan, Meli'sa Morgan, Ainta Baker, it's many more I can name. I luv the school because of the message. You have good singer's who will become great singer's in time. But I can't relate to what they saying right now, some of these new singer's, are not like the old school. Than you have a few that's great already like a Lala hathaway, Mary j. Blige, some people might say that's old school, true, however whatever the old is singing still have relevance to this day. 😄 And these people look up t

i was a white kid in a majority black high school when this came out (NY here). I remember this time it was very exciting. I will tell you my black friends held their heads very high during this time. The music, even the rap music was very positive and afrocentric. All the black kids wore those african medallions, they were proud and i remember talking them in class about all the rap groups coming out. They were smart. Now i am an old man, 44, but because of this exposure I am convinced a conspiracy occured within the music inudustry with the intent on dumbing down these kids. It is really heartbreaking. No bullshit seriously.

English Soul Movement in music back the late 80s early 90s was LIFE! Soul II Soul, Loose Ends, Lisa Stansfield, Mark Morrison, The Brand New Heavies just to name a few were destroying the airwaves with awesome music. Can we get back to that? I mean really!

And when you throw in New Jack Swing along with the Brits R&B the mid 80s to mid 90s was the best era of R&B imo.....

Yes , the down-tempo London soul scene was a great scene, but house was just around the corner , and curtailed it somewhat, never mind because true house music is awesome.

@Dia Akin 'Black people'. Where are you from for you, as a Black man, to describe Black people as 'Blacks'??? You've been conditioned to objectify & dehumanise your own race and you don't even realise it. Other than that I agreed with all you said and your last line was on point!

I just recently went back to school. It’s been super challenging and I’ve just been going back and forth with myself, trying to figure out if I made the right decision. I’m currently sitting in front of my school and this song came on. All I heard was “keep on moving, don’t stop, no!” I don’t care what no one says- that was God speaking to me. I asked Him to give me a sign that I was doing the right thing. This was it for me. If you’re going through a tough time, I hope this looks song gives you hope like it did for me. Peace and blessings. 🌻🌻🌻

What are you talkiing about? They were never underated. This song got to no 5 in the UK charts in '89. The same year they had a no 1 with 'Back to life', a no 3 hit with 'Get a life', closely follwed by 'A dreams a dream' in '90 reaching no 6. In '92 'Joy' reached no 4. That's hardly underated is it?
