The fact Kurt Harland improved this mix so much and fixed the notation from a Megadrive game he composed for to make this piece of perfection, which is so awesome to me. It's from a game called Nightmare Circus apparently, and man it's pretty ironic I always felt Ariel's Lament was like an orchestral performance that was being performed before the puppet show to get you pumped lol

I will always remember the first time i opened this game. It was a hot fucking summer day. Everything changed at 0:00. The ghastly voice of Ariel and the dark sounds started. It was so special, i remember i couldn't actually begin the game, 'cause I stared the Sarafan's stronghold right beyond the options menu while the song kept on sounding and scalating to an amazing climax at 1:19. Man, that was so... good. When it comes to lore and narrative, i guess SR2 is the best of all the entire saga. It's a huge puzzle that, still to this day, i'm trying to decipher...

Es basicamente una historia de venganza similar a la de Berserk, en sí no hace mas que introducir a la historia. Después lo que es gameplay, ambientación, música, etc. te lo discuto, son cosas aparte.

Ayyup. As much as I adore Sr1 for amazing and innovative gameplay mechanics, using lack of engine power as story element (smoke), its a game without any load screens and its overall a masterpiece of its era, but just like you said, when I come back lok, its always SR2 for its amazing and convoluted story.

Nothing in SR2 is steam-powered, therefore steampunk would be incorrect. Hence me making up a random term that fits better. Also, steampunk is not a musical genre. It's an aesthetic.

No, when he damned the land and rejected the sacrifice, He was simply fucking done with everything. it's much later - several centuries later that he started dicking around with the Chronoplast that he realized that SOMEONE fucked around with his destiny. But even then he didn't know WHO or WHAT it was, until the SR2 Paradox when he learned of Hylden's involvement and later in Defiance, when he learned that Elder God is a thing and puppeteered everything from behind the scenes.

He understood that the Hylden were counting on him saving Raziel because he is the one to resurrect Janos. Kain had new memories from the events of Blood Omen 2. That's why he tries to warn Raziel not to revive him just before he drifts to the spectral realm.

At the end of Blood Omen Kain had a dilemma. As a corrupted pillar guardian he had to sacrifice him self to purify the pillars of Nosgoth. But as he was the last vampire, killing himself would mean the end of the species. He chose to live and rule Nosgoth as a corrupted guardian. He later learnt that no matter his choice the game was rigged : if he sacrificed himself the Hylden would have finally gotten rid of their ancient vampire enemies and would have had little resistance coming back to Nosgoth.
