My introduction to the series. Had a demo disc with a sizeable vertical slice on it and the intro cinematic. When that FMV was over, I was hooked for life

The entire Legacy of Kain series is one of my most favorite video game series. Soul Reaver was so amazing - and was my first exposure to "True Immortality" in video games (Death is just a time sink to Raziel)

In a way though isn't death just a time sink in any game? I recently finished Blood Omen 2 for this series and I was missing Raziel's ability to escape to the spectral realm when he got immersed in water. It was so annoying to be kicking ass and solving puzzles only to have one miss timed jump send me all the way back to a checkpoint. I love the whole series though. I honestly can't believe I waited this long to replay it.

@@arkham666 reloading from a save isnt quite the same. I mean for Raziel his deaths weren't more than time wasted. Even his first didn't stick.

I love these games so much even though I jumped in here at Soul Reaver and find Blood Omen really hard to get through - digital PS controls get old for my thumbs very quickly and I think analogue support could make it more palatable. I adore Raziel as a protagonist, especially in SR2 but the whole cast and the world of Nosgoth is so captivating. I agree with Hennig that this is here finest work. If the series comes back I really hope they find a way to get her involved again.

man i bought soul reaver 2 at a retro game store for like 20 bucks a couple years ago but i didn’t kno wtf was goin on so i figured i had to play the first one, I decided to give the series a playthrough last month and bruh other than re4 remake the lok series are definitely my most favorite games I’ve played this year so far sr1 specifically

I've been hearing that a lot lately lol. I know how you feel though. Every entry was somewhat flawed and this one especially would benefit from a graphical facelift. I think we'd all like to know what comes next. Who knows what will happen now the IP is no longer being held to ransom by squeenix.
