Got this one done pretty fast xD I'm super excited about this one because it's the most different so far. It's more about actual relationships instead of soulmarks and soulmate. I mean, it's still soulmates, but it's about "what if I don't love my soulmate?"

I’m just going to swoop back into the comments here to just say how masterful the final shot of Jasmine is! That kind of emotional moment for the audience is something that could only be created in this medium! No movie or original animation or any still medium could have the audience immediately recognize the shot, be extremely familiar with what’s about to happen, then completely catch them off guard by changing her expression. Y'know, the thing that's always bothered me about the whole "soulmates" concept is it takes the element of choice out of the equation, which to me makes the love so much less powerful than it could be. If you couldn't ever CHOOSE to be with someone else, then being with that person isn't special, it isn't difficult, it isn't....a choice. And that's the thing that I think Pathos isn't getting. Anyways, this series is SUPER interesting, and I've loved every episode so far! I can't wait to see how the next one goes. Hope Ethos gets to drop-kick Pathos.

That's why I believe that even if 'soulmates' is a real thing, everyone has more than one out there. I mean, in a world with 7 billion people in it, it's ridiculous to think that there's only ONE person that's perfect for you. I think everyone has multiple possible soulmates, and it's up to each person to find the one that's right for them. So even 'the one that got away' may have been perfect, but not the only one.

I really love this series. Soulmates AUs/stories are always fascinating to me but not necessarily in a positive way because there's the whole element of inevitable fate taking away free will and potential abuses of whatever system etc. You're doing a great job with refocusing the story on the universe creators and ethics and I love it so much

This is sooooo good omg!! This episode was really different and so emotional! I love the theme of this series it´s very clever, I always felt curious about the soulmate concept and if it´s really real , like I do believe somehow we are destined to find our other half. The manips are so creative and well done, love the composition of the scenes, coloring and lightning! You really nailed this and can´t wait to see what happens next!!

Oh dear, I'm loving this series more and more, as the whole soulmate concept. On one hand, it eliminates the wrong choice of a person to be together for the whole life, but on the other, it still brings a galore of complications and the possibility of loving someone who is not a soulmate. I like how this series is centered around these 'exceptions from the rules' cases, and the arguments between the Cosmos. I kinda wonder if the actual Henry did indeed meet his soulmate, and also what is going to happen to Jim and Jasmine now. Although I like how this episode has an open ending and it isn't clear whether Jasmine is actually happy to see Jim or not. Oh well, I guess it's up to imagination. =) Looking forward for more episodes!

I kinda... hate that I relate to Pathos a little. He resonates with me on sort of a fan shipping different characters level with an OTP and at the same time as an artist. It feels like he wants the work he's done to be successful/be appreciated (creating soulmates) and thats heavily intertwined with his viewpoint of whats best for the humans. He's basically overromanticized the idea of one other person completing the other, which as I said is sort of reminiscent of fans shipping characters but the difference is in the context of his world he's not shipping CHARACTERS, he's shipping people essentially. And he's so caught up in his viewpoint he's basically become a controlling parent to the humans in a way and its making things worse. Ethos is more realistic, she wants humans to be able to make the decision themselves or at least not have soulmate marks be so intrusive. I'm intrigued with this series, to say the least, with the drama between the humans as the fallout of the gods decisions affect them.

Ah, I was so excited to see the new vid! So exciting to see something so new for this universe! Though maybe this’ll be answered in later videos, I’m really beginning to wonder what soulmates even ARE in this universe, y’know? Why they were created in the first place and why it’s so important for them to be together. Belle and Garret made me wonder this first: is there any kind of actual consequence in any way to being with someone who isn’t your soulmate? On that topic, I also have wondered, with someone like Garret-who is an aberration who is unable to identify his soulmate due to disability-what is the social view on lying to them to trick them into thinking you’re soulmates? What is the Cosmos’ view on that? Is it seen as serious because it’s pretty much abuse/sexual assault to lie to someone in order to manipulate them into a romantic relationship? Or, since Miguel gave no protest to the situation even though he obviously knows Belle is lying, is it just so rare he just didn’t know what to do in that situation because no one talks about it (even though they really should lol, why hasn’t anyone taught Belle about consent??? XD) Is it different in different places? Anyway, that’s enough from me for now. ^^; I started thinking about this series again after your post previewing the picture of Jasmine’s parents (I guessed it was possibly Jasmine’s parents and hoped it had something to do with Soulbound but was too anxious to comment lol), and I wrote a big paragraph to myself about things I’m curious about. Which you have just read half of, the beginning of this comment was a lot of my note to myself. XD

Oh wow, that beginning part with the shadows, it's super creative!! I loved it! Also this act too is so good, makes you think stuff and questions the basics of the soulmate system, and how it controls people's lives, like in the last part it made Jane an outcast. I sincerely love this series so much. You touch on so many different ways soulmate AUs can go, not only by exploring different "soulmate systems" (the Dreams one is actually one of my favourites!! though I write it a bit differently, ahah) but by showing how different people can use them for themselves, what happens to people who don't have soulmates, or simply, like now, what if you just don't want them? what if you want to have a choice? the idea of "destiny" is very scary, after all, and not everyone wants to have their lives written for them. I've already said this before, but seeing the side of the godly beings who created the system and watch it unfold is so unique and interesting (I actually thought to myself "how convenient that he found his soulmate just when she found hers", and I liked the twist that it was actually Pathos' intervention). I'm really looking forward to future episodes and to see what new engaging routes you'll take us! (Also, if I'm not wrong, you edited Jasmine's face in the last scene to have her look unsure rather than smile, and that's very fitting for the confusing situation she finds herself in)

You know what I like to see? I would like to see a young beautiful maiden who's soulmate is a cursed man (someone who was transformed into a creature through a curse or their own doing) and she helps him regain their humanity back despite looking like a monster for their whole lives. Now that would be an interesting concept right there.

I honestly love soulmates AU because it's the simple "Somewhere out there, there is someone just or you", so mostly I don't mind the flaws of this system, but I still love what you are doing it here. What if you find the love of your life in someone who isn't your soulmate? Would be devastating, and I feel just bad or Jasmine for all her love being crushed by a god who believes he is doing what is right. For more beautiful soulmates are, people still should have the right to love whoever they want~

This particular soulmate AU reminds me of a story in the Episode reading app called ‘Iridescent’. It’s a really good story. The story is in a world where, due to a centuries-old war, people are given the name of their soulmates on the day they turn 18. However, the female lead, who was in a relationship at the time, discovered her soulmate was a guy she knew since preschool but they both hated each other. That’s as much as I can give without spoilers. 🙂

I feel like I'm the only one who agrees with Pathos here... if Gods exist and decide your soulmate, why would you ever not listen? It doesn't take away your element of choice. Sure you could decide not to stay with them, but in the end, they are your soulmate. You will never love anyone -romantically or not!- in the same way you'll love them. So I don't see how rebelling against it can be of any usefulness xD Anyway, you did a great job! And I'm honestly surprised at how quickly you upload! For how much work this must take, it's impressive!

I don't think they can be considered aberrations since by definition an aberration is someone that doesn't have whatever mark that should lead you to your soulmate (Jane didn't have a word written on her wrist to find hers, Garret can't see colors so he can't ever tell if he found his or is being lied to) meanwhile Jasmine does have the mark, she can see Jim's day in her dreams like everyone else, but the difference is she doesn't want to follow the rules of staying with her designed soulmate, she wants Henry.
