DIY: EASY MACRAME PLANT HANGER | MACRAME PLANTHANGER TUTORIAL (step by step)

In today’s tutorial we are making a beautiful macrame plant hanger. This is an easy beginner pattern, and takes about 30-45 minutes to make.

The pot I used for the photos, is 10 inches wide. This planthanger could easily fit a larger pot, or nicely for a smaller one as well.
MEASURES: 42in/105cm in length.
Here is what I used:
- 4mm, 3 ply rope from Ganxxet
- 8 x15feet/4.6m
- 2 x 3feet/90cm
- 2in/5cm wooden ring

Great tutorial. I was born in '76, and I remember being a toddler and my mom having plants in macrame hangers that had brown, orange, and yellow ropes. Totally 70's colors. Fond first memories of getting underneath the hanging plants that were held up by them.

I shortened mine by only tying 25 alternating half hitch knots to begin with so that it would hang at the correct height in my window with a cascading plant and the pattern still works perfectly! I am dyslectic and your first one out of all the ones I have watched that I have understood.you have shown details others dont explained it properly thank you from bottom of my heart I have looked and asked where I can buy this macram materials and no reply I live in scotland sadly no ones heard of macram but my grandmother had this pot holder I never knew it was macram.i had it later loved it then my daughter wanted it as noone had one like this I asked her if I could have it back.oh I got rid of it was her selfish reply.she knew I didnt realy want to part from it.just gave it as she was just starting out.i would have had respect and asked my mum if she would like it returned not get rid.but hey now I hopefully if I can buy rope some where make this to be pride of place once again hanging from brass hook still in ceiling.thank you
