@gamecubepim It's called a talkbox. Basically it takes the guitar signal and acoustically sends it up a rubber tube. You put that in your mouth and can shape the sounds by articulating your mouth and adding in vocals which go back into the microphone and out to the audience.

Actually, he's not using a talkbox here... he's using what's call a vocoder. If you notice, there's no tube here. The voice is passed through filters and the bands are broken down and decoded to any sound and almost any instrument.
