In this flashback from early 2017, Soulja Boy was interviewed by VladTV where he spoke on his ability as a lyricist. In the segment, Soulja says he's gotten much better as a rapper over the years, and that despite his reputation he's actually lyrical in his own way. According to Soulja, he's never tried to be lyrical in the vein of NY rappers like Jay Z, but with that said he believes his own style of rapping to be just as hard. Later on, Soulja also speaks on the influence that he's had on Drake throughout his career, with that segment starting at the 4:25 mark.
